Lead the enterprise data strategy that powers trusted governance, scalable analytics, modern architecture, and responsible AI for a growing multi-company organization.

2nd Adventure Services provides shared services and enterprise support for Brownells, Crow Wholesale, AR15.com, and other affiliated businesses. As Director, Enterprise Data Strategy & Analytics, you will lead the enterprise data strategy, governance, analytics, architecture roadmap, and AI-ready capabilities that help leaders trust the numbers, align around common definitions, and make better business decisions.

Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, you will lead the Data & Analytics Center of Excellence and partner with executives, business leaders, IT, Legal, Security, and Compliance teams to improve data quality, mature our Power BI and Microsoft Fabric environment, and build scalable analytics capabilities across eCommerce, distribution, wholesale, digital media, merchandising, supply chain, operations, finance, and customer experience.

This is not a traditional reporting role. It is an opportunity to build the enterprise data foundation, governance model, and analytics capabilities needed to support long-term growth and responsible AI adoption.

Where You'll Make the Greatest Impact

  • Establish and lead the enterprise data governance program, including data quality, stewardship, metadata, lineage, classification, access, retention, and auditability
  • Define and lead the enterprise data architecture roadmap, including platform strategy, master data management, integration patterns, data products, cloud modernization, and AI-ready capabilities
  • Lead the Data & Analytics Center of Excellence, creating practical standards and operating models for governed analytics, trusted reporting, and self-service insights
  • Own enterprise analytics and reporting strategy, including scalable dashboards, semantic models, reports, and insights aligned to trusted data sources
  • Partner with executives and functional leaders to align common definitions, reporting priorities, analytics roadmaps, and data literacy efforts with business outcomes
  • Improve confidence in key business metrics across revenue, margin, inventory, pricing, freight, vendor performance, customer behavior, and operational performance

What Success Looks Like in the First 12-18 Months

  • Establish an enterprise data governance framework with executive sponsorship, clear ownership, and measurable adoption
  • Deliver a multi-year enterprise data strategy and architecture roadmap aligned to business priorities, platform maturity, and AI readiness
  • Expand trusted self-service analytics through governed reporting, semantic models, and clear data definitions
  • Improve data quality, accessibility, and business trust in the metrics leaders use to make decisions

Why 2nd Adventure Services

  • Executive influence: Partner directly with senior leadership to shape enterprise data strategy, governance, and analytics maturity
  • Enterprise impact: Drive trusted data, reporting, and decision support across multiple business entities and operating models
  • Modernization opportunity: Help mature our Power BI and Microsoft Fabric environment while shaping the future-state data architecture roadmap
  • AI readiness: Help define how AI and advanced analytics are used responsibly, practically, and securely across the organization

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, statistics, information systems, business analytics, or a related field
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in data analytics, business intelligence, enterprise data management, data strategy, or related data leadership roles
  • Experience developing enterprise data strategies and operating models across governance, architecture, engineering, analytics, and business enablement functions
  • Strong experience with enterprise data governance, data quality, stewardship, metadata, lineage, master data, access controls, and reporting standards
  • Experience leading analytics, BI, data governance, or data platform teams in complex or matrixed environments
  • Ability to influence senior leaders, align business teams around common definitions, and drive adoption of data standards across functions
  • Expertise in SQL, data modeling, visualization, semantic models, reporting architecture, and modern data platforms
  • Experience with Power BI and Microsoft Fabric, or comparable modern cloud data platforms; familiarity with Snowflake, Databricks, or similar platforms is a plus
  • Working knowledge of data privacy, security, and compliance principles as applied to analytics, reporting, and data access
  • Experience with AI-enabled analytics, workflow automation, LLM-powered reporting, or advanced analytics solutions preferred
