About The Role

Under the general supervision of the Executive Director of Student Support Services, the Director is responsible for providing instructional leadership and supervision in their assigned program(s) to ensure appropriate education for all enrolled students with disabilities.

  • Supervises daily operation of the program which involves assignment of staff; student enrollment, attendance, and scheduling; implementation of district and program policies/procedures with staff, students and parents; facility maintenance and student transportation.
  • Facilitates program and curriculum development with staff through the School Improvement and student data collection processes delineated by state and/or federal requirements.
  • Develops and implements student behavior intervention systems with staff in accordance with district, state and federal guidelines.

About You

  • Master's degree in special education or administration with Emergency/Temporary or Full approval as a Supervisor of Special Education. Two to three years of administrative experience preferred.
  • Meets current Michigan requirements for certification and continuing education for school administrators.
  • Interpersonal skills to successfully provide instructional leadership to staff and effectively communicate with constituents and families.
