Full Job Description
Role Summary

TrendAI is Trend Micro's enterprise AI security brand, building credibility with CISOs and security leaders through a rich stream of research, thought leadership, executive commentary, and customer proof. As the function scales, TrendAI is establishing a dedicated editorial layer to ensure the best of that work reaches the right audiences - packaged well and timed well - across every channel.

The Editorial Director owns that connective layer. This is not a content-production or order-taking role, and not a gatekeeper that approves or blocks other teams' work. Think air-traffic control: the distribution pods remain the pilots in charge of execution; the Editorial Director provides direction, sequencing, and data. The person in this seat looks across everything in flight, clusters it into the stories that matter, packages each with proof points and complementary assets, times release across channels, and ensures creators get clear feedback on what resonated.

Core Responsibilities

Lead the editorial engine
  • Chair the editorial board, on which every pod lead has a seat - synthesize their input and own the final call on what gets packaged, prioritized, and scheduled (the decision-maker, informed by the board)
  • Cluster in-flight content (thought leadership, threat research, podcast, exec commentary, customer proof) into coherent narratives tied to market and leadership themes
  • Translate dense source material for the audience - e.g. turn a long-form research report into something a CISO actually wants to open - without diluting the underlying rigor
  • Sequence and time releases across PR, social, influencer, podcast, and exec comms so assets reinforce one another

Build the feedback loop
  • Route performance and "what landed" signal back to originating teams (esp. Threat Research and Product Marketing) so long-lead work is continuously shaped by what the market responds to
  • Partner with the Data & Analytics Lead so editorial decisions are evidence-based

Own the messaging backbone
  • Operate the content-routing workflow - drafting, review, approval - so approved content moves quickly from idea to publication
  • Own the quote bank and messaging house: codify approved messaging, keep it current, and lock updates at defined approval gates
  • Feed and draw from the executive thought-leadership program as a primary source of approved voice and POV

Scale the function
  • Run editorial hands-on with a small pod at first; as the team and tooling mature, systematize it into a repeatable daily operation supported by the MI data and automation stack

Qualifications

Required
  • 8+ years in editorial, content strategy, or integrated communications, including 2+ leading a cross-functional editorial or content function
  • Demonstrated ability to run an editorial calendar across multiple channels and stakeholders and to make prioritization calls that stick
  • Strong editorial judgment - can make technical or dense material resonate for a senior business audience
  • A diplomat and an operator: can align teams who don't report to you and land a shared function as a service
  • Comfortable in a fast-moving, AI-forward environment; high AI fluency and appetite to adopt new tooling quickly

Preferred
  • B2B technology, cybersecurity, or enterprise-software background; understands the CISO/security-leader audience
  • Experience standing up a net-new editorial/content-ops function (people, process, tooling)
  • Familiarity with content-ops tooling and data-informed editorial decisioning
