Job Summary:

The Director, Division Finance, is responsible for providing guidance on all financial-related matters for the assigned group/division including accounting-related staff. The Director, Division Finance, will work closely with group/division management, with the oversight of the VP of Accounting, in various office locations with the analysis of financial matters, budgets, job costs, and other related requirements.

Supervises: Senior Manager, Accounts Receivable and Sr. Accountant

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Under the direction of the VP of Accounting and in collaboration with the applicable divisional department, monitor and manage all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, budgets, forecasting, and financial and budget reviews, accounts payable, and credit/collections for the Facility Service Group (FSG) and SunBelt Controls (SBC)
  • Provide guidance and training on all financial-related matters for the assigned group/division including to related accounting staff.
  • Review monthly reconciliations of accounts as applicable.
  • Act as a point of contact / liaison between group/division and corporate departments.
  • Communicate and coordinate operational activities with Corporate Finance to ensure that these activities are accurately and properly accounted for and budgeted for.
  • Provide support to management in various office locations with the analysis of financial matters, budgets, job revenue and costs, production overhead, SG&A, key performance indicators and other related requirements.
  • Partner with the Project Controls team to establish and maintain standardized procedures for monitoring project budgets, cost impacts, cash flow analysis, and overall project profitability.
  • Collaborate with Project Controls to support accurate project-level accounting functions, including WIP (Work in Progress) reporting and project cost tracking on large and complex projects.
  • Provide financial analysis on business unit level financial statements inclusive of revenue business units, production overhead business units, tool crib business units, and SG&A business units.
  • Guide Sales Management through the budget cycle providing insight into business unit, salesperson, and product level financial analysis that will help drive strategic planning and initiatives.
  • Drive working capital optimization initiatives by aggressively managing project billing cycles, minimizing underbilling (costs in excess), and ensuring the strategic management of retainage.
  • Develop and implement localized financial dashboards to track operational key performance indicators (KPIs) such as labor productivity, equipment utilization, and regional profitability.
  • Champion the continuous improvement of operational finance systems and ERP workflows, tailoring financial tools to streamline data entry and visibility for field operations and project managers.
  • Support the VP of Accounting in the financial and operational integration of newly acquired divisions or business units, ensuring seamless alignment with corporate accounting standards.
  • Oversee incentive calculations and business unit financial statement reporting and analysis.
  • Maintain regular communication and provide updates to the VP of Accounting and group/division operational leader for all assigned matters.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by upper management.


Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • Public accounting experience preferred.
  • A minimum of 7-9 years of experience in accounting.
  • Strong computer skills - Proficient with Microsoft Office for Windows (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Experience with large-scale ERP systems (e.g., JD Edwards, SAP, or Oracle).
  • Excellent written and verbal communications.
  • Strong problem solving and customer service skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to adjust and interact with all levels of personnel.
  • Ability to manage relationships both internally and externally.

Travel Requirements:

Travel required 25% of the time to other office locations.

Hours:

This is an exempt position. Workdays are scheduled from Monday through Friday. Typically, work hours begin and end between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm as scheduled with the position's supervisor.

Physical Demands:
  • Prolonged sitting.
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision.


Competitive Wages:
$165,000-$195,000 annually. Applicants, please note that actual compensation is determined by several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location, among others. The offered wage or salary is only one aspect of an employee's total compensation.
