Job DescriptionAs the
Director of Data Science for North America Retail, you will spearhead a high-performing team of data scientists dedicated to revolutionizing how we operate retail business processes-leveraging
Generative AI,
Agentic AI,
machine learning models, and
optimization algorithms on massive datasets. Your leadership will directly impact billions in revenue by enabling smarter, faster decisions across merchandising, supply chain, demand forecasting, pricing, and customer experience.
What You Will Lead- Strategic Vision & Execution: Drive the roadmap and delivery of advanced AI/ML capabilities to transform North America retail operations at scale
- Team Leadership: Mentor, inspire, and grow a diverse team of data scientists and AI engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning
- Innovative AI Solutions: Oversee development and deployment of scalable machine learning models, optimization frameworks, simulations, and generative AI techniques to solve complex retail challenges
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate closely with Retail Operations, Commercial teams, Data Engineering, and IT to ensure analytics solutions integrate seamlessly into production systems and influence business decisions
- Impact Measurement: Champion data-driven insights and quantify the business value delivered by AI initiatives, optimizing processes and driving measurable ROI
Job QualificationsRequired Qualifications- 8+ years of progressive experience in data science, advanced analytics, or machine learning, with a strong background in retail operations or related industries
- Master's degree or higher in Operations Research, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Data Science, or related field
- Proven leadership managing and scaling data science teams, fostering collaboration and technical excellence
- Deep expertise in machine learning algorithms, including deep learning, reinforcement learning, optimization, and generative AI
- Hands-on experience programming in Python, and working with AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn
- Strong knowledge of big data technologies and cloud platforms like GCP, Azure, or AWS
- Track record of delivering AI-driven business transformation in retail analytics, such as demand forecasting, pricing optimization, supply chain optimization, customer analytics, or merchandising
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to influence senior leaders and diverse teams
Preferred Qualifications- Experience building and deploying AI/ML pipelines using DevOps practices, CI/CD, and version control (Git)
- Passion for continuous personal and team growth, with proven ability to stay ahead of emerging AI trends including agentic AI and generative models
- Experience with large-scale data processing, cloud-native analytics, and integrating AI solutions into operational systems
