What you'll do

The Director, Data Governance Enablement is an enterprise subject matter expert in enterprise data governance, bringing deep expertise to drive best practices in governance frameworks, resolving complex ownership and compliance challenges, and guiding strategic decision-making across the organization. This role is responsible for operationalizing enterprise data governance frameworks. This role embeds ownership, stewardship, and accountability into daily operations and priority initiatives, ensuring governance supports trust, compliance, and scalable data usage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and own the implementation of data ownership and stewardship models across enterprise domains.
  • Drive and own the integration of governance requirements into data products, platforms, and initiatives.
  • Own the establishment and ongoing management of governance metrics, scorecards, and reporting.
  • Lead cross-functional alignment with business, technology, and risk leaders to ensure governance supports delivery.
  • Own continuous improvement of governance processes and operating models.
  • Serve as the accountable escalation point for governance gaps and ownership issues.
  • Ensure governance practices enable, rather than impede, enterprise value creation.


What you bring

  • 10+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing enterprise-wide governance frameworks in complex organizations.
  • Strong understanding of data risk, regulatory, and compliance considerations.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive organizational change.
  • Hands-on experience implementing and improving governance processes and capabilities.
  • Exceptional understanding of change management best practices and the ability to implement meaningful change management practices across large organizations.
  • Strong understanding of data risk, privacy, regulatory, and compliance requirements, and the ability to establish practical controls that balance risk management with business needs.
  • Experience in the retail industry is preferred.
