Full Job Description
Position Summary

The Director of Data Analytics is responsible for the Patient Access Services (PAS) operational analytics unit within UBC. This role will work directly with the Head of Data & Analytics to execute on organizational client-facing data strategy and optimize the performance and productivity of the Data Analyst staff.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the team of 5-8 Data Analysts responsible for PAS operational analytics.
  • Maintain team backlog, scheduled data refreshes, and report subscriptions.
  • Administer the Tableau Cloud and Power BI applications.
  • Coach Analysts with SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Snowflake and general analytics best practices.
  • Ensure analytics function has all team, business process, backend, and frontend procedures documented and maintained.
  • Support pharma client engagements, representing Data & Analytics for bid defenses, quarterly business reviews, and other initiatives.
  • Build business process, application, and data subject matter expertise for all service lines to serve as a highly-credible advisor to Operations leadership, Analysts, and clients.
  • Create and maintain excellent customer-facing relationships with Operations and clients.
  • Present project status updates and state of the team to Head of Analytics weekly.
  • Take full ownership of analytics execution and team performance.

Required Qualifications:
  • BS in a technical field (Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, etc).
  • 1+ year Snowflake experience.
  • Advanced SQL skills.
  • Advanced dashboard design skills.
  • 2+ years experience with Tableau.
  • 1+ year experience with Power BI.
  • 5+ years of data analysis experience in a customer-facing, consultative role.
  • 5+ years managing Data Analysts with a hands-on approach.
  • Excellent communication and presentation ability.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Keen attention to detail and highly organized.
  • Healthcare data background, preferably in pharma.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MS in a data-related field (BI, Analytics, Data Science, etc).
  • Patient Access Services / Commercial Hub experience.
  • 3+ years Snowflake experience.
  • 3+ years Power BI experience.
  • Expert-level Tableau skills.
  • 5+ years of prior experience as a Data Analyst in a highly-technical role.
