Director, Data & AI

Position Summary:

The Director of Data & AI will help drive Subway performance through the development of world-class AI Tools and Solutions. The role will build out the future state use-cases for self-service, agile, and agentic reporting, unlocking new data-driven insights and Subway growth opportunities. The position will partner with all areas of the business (Ops, Marketing, Finance) to define the needs and requirements to design the data structures across descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analytics.

Responsibilities:
  • Partners with stakeholders to define optimal use-cases, tools, and solutions to address critical business questions and support decision making.
  • Manages multiple analytics projects, in partnership with key data SMEs, to evolve AI use-cases and innovative deliverables within timelines and budget
  • Builds the commercial AI and analytics capabilities including team, infrastructure and processes to support all business functions.
  • Delivers on data-led initiatives and prioritizes high value outcomes, including impact across marketing optimization, pricing and promotional efforts, BI/Reporting, and store optimization

  • Collaborates with the Tech team, providing requirements to create the data infrastructure necessary to implement the commercial AI strategy and to generate actionable insights and ML models for forecasting and optimization.
  • Defines how the business can create additional value through the algorithms and utilization of data assets and analytics, including developing trainings, documentation, data dictionaries and running workshops with key stakeholders
  • Collaborates across functions to develop high quality effective analytic and market research support, including Innovation workshops focused on the latest technology and data research
  • Increase automation to focus the team on value-added analysis and tasks, and increase the pace of development across the data & analytics function


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Analytics or a quantitative field
  • 8 + years relevant experience in data analytics & business intelligence required

Compensation: The base pay range for this role is $184,500-$230,600 USD annually
Pay within this range will be determined in good faith based on job-related factors, which may include skills, experience, education/training, location, and internal equity.

Actual pay is determined based on a number of job-related factors including skills, education, training, credentials, qualifications, scope and complexity of role responsibilities, geographic location, performance, and working conditions.
