Job Summary

We are currently seeking a Director, Cyber Mission Focused Tools to build, scale, and operationally lead an Offensive Cyber organization supporting U.S. Government customers. This position may be located in Columbus, OH or Chantilly, VA, and requires extensive engagement in classified environments.

The selected candidate will provide executive leadership across strategy, mission delivery, and business growth for offensive cyber capabilities, including full profit and loss (P&L) responsibility. This role demands a rare combination of hands-on offensive cyber expertise, senior leadership acumen, and business ownership in high consequence national security environments. Travel of 50% or greater is required.

Responsibilities

Operational & Technical Leadership
  • Lead offensive cyber mission execution across reverse engineering, vulnerability research, exploit development, and capability delivery.
  • Oversee development and deployment of advanced cyber capabilities aligned to mission objectives.
  • Ensure technical rigor, operational security, and compliance within classified environments.

Business & P&L Ownership
  • Own P&L for the Offensive Cyber portfolio, including revenue growth, margin performance, and cost management.
  • Partner with Business Development and Capture to shape and win mission-aligned opportunities.
  • Drive scalable delivery while maintaining elite technical quality.

Team & Capability Development
  • Recruit, retain, and mentor senior technical leaders and operators in a highly cleared environment.
  • Establish technical standards, tradecraft evolution, and career pathways for offensive cyber personnel.
  • Foster a disciplined, innovative, mission-first culture.

Customer Engagement & Strategy
  • Serve as a trusted partner to senior government and intelligence stakeholders.
  • Translate mission needs into executable solutions and long-term capability roadmaps.
  • Represent Battelle in classified briefings and strategic forums.

Key Qualifications

  • Recognized technical authority in the offensive cyber community.
  • Executive presence with senior government briefing experience.
