- Willingness to be based within commutable distance of our West Texas or Oklahoma operations and to travel across the portfolio as required
Job responsibilities - Budget & Cost Control: Manage and track comprehensive project budgets and integrated project costs across all data center initiatives, ensuring precise financial forecasting and variance reporting.
- Estimation & Modeling: Stand up robust, standardized project estimation frameworks for greenfield and brownfield builds, providing accurate baseline costs from early conceptual design through to final closeout.
- Quantitative Risk Analysis: Perform sophisticated quantitative cost risk analyses, including Monte Carlo simulation and contingency modeling, to establish realistic project reserves and buffer against market volatility.
- Vendor Billing & Financial Governance: Oversee all vendor and contractor billing cycles, ensuring strict alignment against approved contract values, milestone progress and budget thresholds.
- Change Order Management: Establish and lead a rigorous review, tracking and approval process for all project change orders to mitigate scope creep and control cost escalation.
- Standards, Processes & Compliance: Define and institutionalize enterprise-wide cost management standards, governance frameworks and best practices to ensure audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
- Talent Acquisition & Team Building: Hire, mentor and scale a high-performing cost management team distributed across multiple regions, establishing a unified culture of financial accountability.
- Capital Forecasting & Executive Reporting: Partner with Finance and FP&A on capex phasing, cash flow forecasting and earned value reporting, and present cost health, contingency drawdown and capital efficiency metrics to executive leadership and the Board.
- Commercial & Procurement Support: Support Procurement and Supply Chain on contracting strategy, pricing and commercial terms for long-lead equipment such as transformers, switchgear, generators and cooling plant.
- Benchmarking & Capital Efficiency: Build and maintain unit-cost benchmarks across the portfolio, including cost per MW and cost per kW of critical load, and use them to drive value engineering and challenge estimates.
- Systems & Data Integrity: Own the cost management toolset and its integration with ERP and project management platforms, ensuring a single, auditable source of truth for project cost.
