Summary:
The Director, Corporate Tax is responsible for leading all aspects of the company's tax function, including tax planning, compliance, reporting, and strategy. This role ensures adherence to federal, state, and international tax laws while identifying opportunities for tax savings and risk mitigation. The Director works closely with internal stakeholders and external advisors to manage audits, optimize the company's tax position, and support strategic business initiatives. Young Living is a privately held, pass through entity; this role requires tax expertise suited to that structure (S-Corporation/Partnership Taxation) in addition to broader corporate tax leadership.
Essential Functions:
• Lead the preparation and review of federal, state, local, and international tax returns, extensions, and estimated payments, ensuring accurate and timely compliance.
• Oversee the preparation of the company's quarterly and annual tax provision in accordance with ASC 740.
• Manage transfer pricing compliance with local and international regulations, maximizing its tax efficiency.
• Manage basis calculations, capital account maintenance, allocations under Section 704(b), and Section 754 step-up adjustments. Provide strategic guidance on partnership formations, restructuring, liquidations, and asset transactions.
• Develop and implement tax strategies that align with the company's financial and operational goals.
• Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on the organization.
• Manage relationships with external tax advisors, auditors, and government agencies.
• Oversee tax audits and inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
• Provide technical tax guidance and support for business transactions, M&A activity, and cross-border operations.
• Identify opportunities for tax credits, incentives, and process improvements.
• Collaborate with finance, legal, and operations teams to support business initiatives and maintain compliance.
• Lead, mentor, and develop tax team members, fostering a high-performance culture.
Skills & Qualifications:
• Deep understanding of U.S. federal, state, and international corporate and pass-through entity tax laws.
• Strong knowledge of pass-through entity taxation (S-Corporations/Partnerships), including K-1 reporting, partner/shareholder basis calculations, and state pass-through entity (PTET) elections.
• Strong technical expertise in ASC 740 and tax accounting principles.
• Proven ability to manage complex tax matters and multiple priorities effectively.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• High level of integrity, attention to detail, and analytical ability.
• Proficiency in tax compliance software and ERP systems.
• Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to identifying risks and opportunities.
Required Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in corporate tax, including at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
• Strong knowledge of tax accounting (ASC 740) and tax compliance processes.
• A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a specific degree requirement.
Preferred Education and Experience:
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Master of Taxation (MST) strongly preferred.
• Experience in a public accounting firm and/or large corporate tax department.
• Background in a multinational or publicly traded company.
• Background in a privately held company, with direct experience in pass-through entity taxation.
• Experience managing cross-border tax issues, transfer pricing, and M&A tax structuring.

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as a laptop, desktop, smartphone, and photocopiers. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Essential oils are worn and/or diffused in the work environment.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This position requires the incumbent to be physically present at the assigned worksite. The regular schedule is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with an hour lunch, Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Employees are also expected to work at least one non-convention farm event a year and to work at the annual company convention. Exact hour requirements can be reasonably modified as necessary for the business needs by the employee's manager.
