Full Job Description
As the Director, Corporate FP&A, you will have a unique opportunity to build and lead Discovery Senior Living's first centralized Financial Planning & Analysis function. Reporting directly to the CFO, this highly visible role will serve as a strategic business partner to Executive Leadership, ownership groups, and the Board of Directors, helping shape financial strategy and support the continued growth of one of the nation's largest senior living operators. This is more than a traditional FP&A position. It is an opportunity to create the processes, reporting frameworks, forecasting models, and analytical capabilities that will drive enterprise-wide decision-making and long-term success. Position Highlights Status: Full-Time, Exempt Schedule: Traditional business hours with flexibility as needed to support key deadlines and business initiatives Location: Dallas, TX Compensation: Commensurate with experience Travel: 10% - 20% Why You'll Love This Opportunity • Build and lead Discovery Senior Living's first centralized Corporate FP&A function • Partner directly with the CFO and Executive Leadership Team • Influence strategic decisions across a national organization • Develop Board-level reporting and enterprise analytics • Create scalable financial planning and forecasting processes that support continued growth • Gain visibility with ownership groups and senior business leaders • Help shape the future of a growing organization while building a high-impact finance function What You'll Do • Design, build, and enhance the organization's Corporate FP&A function, including planning processes, forecasting methodologies, reporting standards, and analytical capabilities • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and scenario modeling efforts across corporate and business operations • Develop and maintain integrated financial models that support strategic planning, operational decision-making, and growth initiatives • Provide actionable insights on financial performance, business trends, risks, and opportunities to executive leadership and key stakeholders • Partner with Corporate Accounting to analyze actual results, forecast variances, and financial performance drivers • Develop Board and ownership reporting materials, dashboards, and executive-level presentations • Conduct ROI analyses and financial evaluations of strategic initiatives, investments, and corporate expenditures • Lead financial review meetings with department leaders and business partners to drive accountability and informed decision-making • Identify opportunities to improve reporting, streamline processes, enhance data quality, and expand the use of business intelligence and key performance indicators • Support ad hoc analyses and special projects for executive leadership, ownership groups, and other stakeholders • Establish the foundation for future team growth, including defining roles, hiring talent, and developing FP&A capabilities as the function evolves Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field • Six or more years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, strategic finance, or a related discipline • Experience developing complex financial models, budgets, forecasts, and executive-level reporting • Strong understanding of financial statements, business performance drivers, and strategic planning processes • Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial modeling skills • Experience creating executive presentations and communicating complex financial information to senior leaders • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and business partnership skills • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment • Experience supporting Executive Leadership teams, Boards of Directors, ownership groups, investors, or external financial partners preferred • Demonstrated success building, transforming, or significantly enhancing an FP&A function preferred • Experience within senior living, healthcare, hospitality, real estate, multi-site operations, or other service-based industries preferred • Experience with business intelligence and reporting platforms such as Power BI, Vena, or similar tools preferred • Experience leading, mentoring, or developing finance team members preferred Why Join Us Our Culture & Values So often, what brings people together is deeply rooted in who we are and what we stand for.
