Position Description: Working as a Director of Consulting Services, Public Sector, you will have senior responsibility to help our customers solve the difficult challenges they face in serving their constituents and lead the teams providing technology services to our state and local government clients. You will drive business and grow revenue volume from within existing and new accounts and develop a strong pipeline of prospective opportunities. The Director of Consulting Services, Public Sector will join our leadership team and help deliver effective technology solutions to transform service delivery and/or solve our clients' current challenges in the Iowa Public Sector.
Our ideal candidate should possess state and local government domain experience, specifically in the field of IT and related delivery capabilities, with experience in the Des Moines metropolitan area. Additionally, as a key leader in our Des Moines metropolitan area, this individual is expected to thrive in collaborative environments and be highly motivated by delivering excellent services to our clients and ensuring their satisfaction.
This position is located in Des Moines, IA with a hybrid working model in the office or client site, 3-4 days per week.
Your future duties and responsibilities: This role requires developing and maintaining strong, strategic relationships with assigned clients while driving business growth within those accounts, with a particular focus on the Des Moines metropolitan area. The individual will ensure the delivery of high-quality services, actively participate in client engagements, and lead initiatives to achieve targeted revenue and profitability goals. This position combines project delivery oversight with business development responsibilities, ensuring seamless execution and alignment with organizational objectives. As a Director of Consulting Services, Public Sector, you will:
• Hold overall accountability for project and service delivery, ensuring outcomes meet or exceed client expectations.
• Drive the success of engagements by leveraging delivery teams and vendor partnerships, frequently acting as the Engagement Manager.
• Oversee projects teams to manage and enhance client satisfaction.
• Oversee engagement profitability, maintaining a focus on financial and operational efficiency.
• Apply CGI's industry-leading delivery and engagement management best practices to ensure consistent excellence.
• Contribute to business strategy development and budget planning to align delivery with organizational objectives.
• Develop a strong pipeline of opportunities by actively building and nurturing relationships within new and existing accounts.
• Lead the creation of proposals and evolution of solution offerings to meet client needs.
• Provide leadership to a team of professionals, including direct reports and delivery teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Implement management best practices such as succession planning, member performance reviews, and finance management.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:• Experience in IT and Consulting Services: Minimum of 8 years in relevant roles.
• Project Management Proficiency: Hands-on experience managing Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid technical projects while mentoring project managers.
• Business Development Skills: Experience in strategic sales planning and opportunity cultivation, with particular experience in the Des Moines metropolitan area.
• Application Modernization Expertise: Proven track record in delivering modernization projects.
• Delivery Accountability: Oversight of projects with a minimum annual value of $3M.
• Business Acumen: Strong understanding of budgets, forecasting, planning, P&L management, and complex pricing models.
• Client Relationship Management: Demonstrated success in engaging and building strong client partnerships, specifically in Public Sector entities.
• Leadership Abilities: Effective people management and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: A keen intellect with strong conceptual thinking and decision-making capabilities.
• Communication Excellence: Strong verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels.
• Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively with diverse, cross-functional teams.
• Minimum Education Required: Bachelor's Degree

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $141,000.00 $278,000.00.
