 Position Overview

The Director, Commercial Planning is accountable for the vision, strategy, and execution of the commercial planning functions that enable field effectiveness and business growth. This includes ownership of incentive compensation design and governance, territory alignment and targeting, CRM platform strategy, and commercial data operations. The Director partners closely with commercial and cross-functional leadership to ensure the infrastructure, processes, and tools that power field execution are accurate, scalable, and aligned to business priorities. This role leads a team of commercial planning professionals and serves as the primary point of accountability for the commercial planning disciplines within Screening Operations.

This role is required to be onsite in Madison, WI


The job will be posted for 7 days.

 

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lead the development and execution of commercial planning priorities — including incentive compensation, territory design, CRM platform strategy, and commercial data operations — by gathering business requirements, owning key workstreams, and escalating risks as needed.
  • Lead the preparation, consolidation, and communication of commercial planning performance and operational health to key internal stakeholders to include, but not limited to, Sales leadership, Executive Leadership Team, Commercial Leadership Team, and Business Unit Leadership.
  • Oversee the execution and long-term strategy of our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform and supporting commercial technology tools, ensuring the field has the systems and data needed to execute at a high level.
  • Design, govern, and manage incentive compensation programs across the commercial organization, including annual plan design, quota setting, payout accuracy, and cross-functional coordination with Finance, HR, and Legal.
  • Responsible for the vision and execution of territory design, field alignment, and deployment of sales targeting.
  • Ensure the appropriate data analytics support and sharing across relevant stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain commercial data governance standards — including data quality, lineage, and integrity — to ensure accurate, trusted data underpins incentive compensation, targeting, and field reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency across commercial planning functions — including automation, tooling, and process improvement — to enable the commercial organization to scale without proportional headcount growth.
  • Anticipate market trends and oversee the infrastructure for scalable growth.
  • Monitor and report the performance of priority commercial initiatives – support the process of prioritization; ensure appropriate periodic reporting and decision-making with regards to these projects.
  • Develop functional key performance indicators (KPIs) and hold team accountable.
  • Effectively manage, support, and guide your team, including, but not limited to, delegating tasks and responsibilities, assessing employee performance, and providing training opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field as outlined in essential duties.
  • 12+ years of experience in Medical Technology or similar industries.
  • 5+ years leading people and/or projects.
  • Advanced capability with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Demonstrated success directly leading and coordinating business initiatives through strong project management, influence, and team leadership skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration or field as outlined in essential duties.

     

The base pay for this position is

$149,300.00 – $298,700.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
