Full Job Description
Position Summary

The Director of Commercial Data, Systems, and Business Intelligence is accountable for developing and overseeing the approach, delivery, and communication of US commercial data, systems, and business intelligence (BI) capabilities. The Director manages the commercial data lifecycle from acquisition, integration, quality, stewardship, governance, reporting, and enablement, and is responsible for helping define, prioritize, and monitor the successful development of a scalable commercial systems ecosystem. The Director serves as a significant partner to Commercial leadership and IT, and helps ensure the organization operates from accurate, accessible, and decision-ready data.

The Director will report to the Vice President, Commercial Excellence & Insights and Analytics.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Build and lead the commercial data, systems, and BI function to support the upstream and downstream needs of the commercial organization
  • Serve as a core member of Commercial Operations and a significant partner to broader commercialization leaders and IT
  • Lead and coordinate commercial data integration strategies, priorities, and solutions in partnership with internal stakeholders, IT, and external vendors
  • Develop the short-term and long-term strategies for commercial data, systems, and BI capabilities and oversee execution of the associated roadmap, including prioritization and sequencing of key initiatives
  • Oversee commercial data governance processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness in data operations, reporting, analytics, and commercial system integration
  • Define and maintain relevant hierarchies, data validations, business rules, and quality standards for commercial master and transactional data
  • Ensure commercial data pipelines, reporting environments, dashboards, and analytic workloads are monitored for uptime, quality, compliance, and issue remediation
  • Lead CRM and related commercial business applications, including implementations, upgrades, support, user enablement, and adoption in partnership with business and IT stakeholders
  • Oversee dashboard strategy, BI development, KPI governance, and reporting standards to support leadership visibility and commercial decision-making
  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, define operating needs, and translate business priorities into scalable data and technology solutions
  • Implement and oversee data and technology compliance policies and procedures, including applicable privacy, quality, and data protection requirements
  • Communicate commercial data and technology strategies, roadmaps, risks, and plans to key stakeholders
  • Assess new and emerging technologies to strengthen the commercial data and systems ecosystem
  • Select and manage external vendor partners and serve as primary point of contact for key data, systems, and BI-related services
  • Plan and manage the applicable budget and establish metrics to gauge internal performance, service quality, and value delivered to the organization
  • Represent Commercial Operations on internal committees, project teams, and cross-functional working sessions as appropriate
  • Participate in ad-hoc commercial and cross-functional projects as required

Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Engineering, Business or related field required; advanced degree preferred
  • At least 9 years of relevant pharmaceutical/biotechnology experience, including experience in commercial data, CRM, reporting, BI, systems implementation, data stewardship, and/or related commercial technology functions
  • Strong experience in data governance, data quality, and data stewardship processes required
  • Experience with CRM design, build, enhancement, support, or business ownership required
  • Experience with BI system design, reporting architecture, dashboard development, testing, deployment, and support required
  • Experience working with key pharmaceutical data assets such as wholesaler, GPO, customer, sales, patient, EMR, claims, lab, and other secondary data preferred
  • Experience working with analytics tools and reporting environments that support a commercial organization required
  • Experience managing data vendors, consultants, and technology partners in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry preferred
  • Experience in oncology and/or hematology commercial environments preferred
  • Experience in a growth-stage or launch-oriented commercial organization preferred
  • Process improvement certification preferred

Salary Statement:

Offered compensation is determined based on market data, internal equity, and an applicant's relevant skills, experience, and educational background.

General Salary Range: $215,000 to $235,000
