Job Summary:

Reporting to the Senior Director of Commercial Insights and Analytics, the Director of Data Science will be critical in shaping product market opportunities. This position will be the in-house expert on the commercial data warehouse, AI and machine learning, predictive modeling, and advanced analytics. This role will ensure the business can proactively create systems and functionality that will allow the Medical Affairs, Sales, Access, and Marketing team to operate efficiently during the product launch and thereafter.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive analytics projects end-to-end while working as a core member of the Brand team
  • Inspire, lead, and grow a team of data scientists to fulfill the company's long-term vision and goals
  • Use data to quantify opportunities, determine present and future challenges, and shape the market strategy for product indications
  • Design, develop, and validate algorithms to identify healthcare providers and institutions that are likely to prescribe product using a hypothesis-driven approach
  • Guide the integration of diverse data sources as needed (claims, CRM, digital, payer, market research, third party sources) for end-to-end analytics to solve challenging problems
  • Actively influence the design of launch and post-launch KPIs for the commercial organization
  • Own the development of AI-powered tools that can enhance Sales and Medical Affairs interactions with providers (e.g., Provider briefings, next best action, NLP-powered summaries)
  • Champion the use of AI and generative AI tools (e.g., Claude and similar platforms) to accelerate the development and delivery of data analyses, statistical models, and dashboards, including automating exploratory analysis, code generation, and documentation to speed time-to-insight
  • Build team capability in AI-augmented data science practices, establishing standards and guardrails for responsible use of AI tools in analytics workflows
  • Serve as the trusted strategic partner between IT and the I&A unit

Qualifications:
  • BS degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., statistics, operations research, econometrics, computer science, engineering), or MS/PhD in a quantitative discipline with relevant working experience.
  • At least 7 years of related work experience (4+ years with an MS/PhD)
  • Strong experience in leveraging AI to develop and deliver data analysis and data science work. Must have direct, hands-on experience building with Claude or a similar AI platform (e.g., agentic workflows, AI-assisted coding, prompt engineering) to accelerate modeling, analysis, and reporting.
  • Track record of embedding AI/ML tools and generative AI copilots into the data science lifecycle to improve speed and quality of insight delivery to business stakeholders
  • People management, including either direct or indirect reports
  • Experience leading cross-functional delivery and influencing exec stakeholders
  • Telling data-driven stories that allow teams and/or companies to develop internal strategy based on clear insights and recommendations
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver a product roadmap
  • Expert in Python, R, SQL, and at least one modern ML framework
  • Experience with cloud platforms and APIs
  • Deep experience with data stack components • SQL warehouse (Snowflake/Databricks/Redshift), orchestration (Airflow/DBT), BI (Tableau/Power BI)
  • Strong knowledge of biopharma data and compliance considerations
  • Travel up to 10%
