Full Job Description
Director, Client Advisory

Denver, CO | Hybrid | $175,000 to $225,000/yr

The Opportunity

NOW CFO is looking for an accomplished Director to lead a portfolio of client relationships and help shape the future of our Denver consulting team. This is a high visibility role for a finance leader who is as comfortable advising a CEO or private equity sponsor as coaching the next generation of consultants, with the autonomy of an advisory practice and the platform of a fast growing, PE backed firm behind you.

The Role

This is a dual leadership role: part client delivery, part team development. You'll own a portfolio of client relationships, mentor and grow a team of consultants, and play an active role in scoping new engagements and supporting business development. We're looking for someone with a strong consulting or advisory background, deep finance and accounting expertise, and the executive presence to lead difficult conversations with confidence.

What You'll Own

Serve as the primary relationship owner for a portfolio of client engagements

Scope new client projects and develop engagement economics, staffing plans, and proposals

Mentor and develop the Denver consulting team as a day to day leader and coach

Review consultant deliverables and hold client work to a high standard

Split your time roughly 50/50 between billable client work and internal team leadership

Oversee financial operations for clients, including accounting, reporting, forecasting, and planning

Partner with senior leadership to drive practice growth, team performance, and operational excellence

Build and maintain relationships with client stakeholders, including CEOs, board members, private equity sponsors, and investors

Support business development, including proposal development and participation in client pursuits

What You Bring

10+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience, including demonstrated leadership responsibility

5+ years in a consulting, advisory, or outsourced finance capacity

A track record of managing multiple client relationships at once while hitting project timelines and deliverables

Exceptional communication skills: able to navigate difficult conversations, influence senior stakeholders, and explain complex financial matters clearly

Experience developing proposals and supporting business development or client acquisition efforts

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA designation strongly preferred (active or inactive)

Nice to Have

Experience in business origination, networking, or client development

A corporate or operational accounting background with strong technical accounting skills

Project accounting or cost accounting experience

Familiarity with multiple ERP platforms (e.g., NetSuite, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, Dynamics)

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $175,000 to $225,000, commensurate with experience. NOW CFO offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:

Health, dental, and vision insurance

Retirement savings plan with company match

Paid time off and holidays

Professional development and continuing education support

Flexible/hybrid work arrangements to support work life balance

Internal mobility opportunities within a PE backed, nationally growing firm
