In this position, you will be responsible for helping to lead a team of highly-skilled engineers to develop the next generation of human-rated Extravehicular Mobility Units (spacesuits) and commercial space infrastructure. This role will lead electrical engineering efforts on mission-critical systems where design rigor and safety assurance directly impact human spaceflight operations and on-orbit activities.

Key Duties:
  • Lead and develop the Electrical Engineering organization, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and high performance.
  • Build and mentor a strong leadership bench, ensuring effective coaching, career development, and succession planning.
  • Set the strategic vision for the Electrical Engineering Center of Excellence aligned with company and program objectives.
  • Establish and enforce unified engineering standards, processes, and best practices across all electrical engineering teams.
  • Champion engineering governance, design assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure all electrical systems and flight hardware comply with industry standards, program requirements, and mission assurance expectations.
  • Oversee the full electrical engineering lifecycle for EVA systems and spacecraft electrical infrastructure, including requirements, architecture, design, analysis, integration, verification, validation, and certification.
  • Provide technical oversight and decision authority for complex electrical designs, avionics architectures, power systems, communications, and integrated spacecraft electronics supporting human spaceflight missions.
  • Drive cross-program coordination to optimize resources, scalability, and organizational efficiency across EVA and station development programs.
  • Collaborate with NASA centers, commercial clients, industry partners, and internal stakeholders to deliver mission-critical electrical and avionics solutions.
  • Promote adoption of advanced tools, digital engineering methods, and model-based approaches to enhance engineering efficiency and product quality in human-rated systems.

Required/Desired Skills, Experience, and Education

Required Skills, Experience, and Education:
  • Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens or permanent residents are eligible for consideration at this time.
  • Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.
  • 10 or more years of progressive electrical engineering experience within aerospace, spacecraft, or human-rated systems.
    • May be reduced with the completion of advanced education.
  • 8 or more years of engineering leadership experience, including managing managers and large multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated success leading engineering organizations in complex, fast-paced, mission-driven environments.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement engineering standards, processes, and governance frameworks.
  • Extensive experience working with NASA programs, standards, and human-rated system requirements.
  • Direct involvement in full lifecycle development of electrical flight hardware from concept through certification and mission readiness.
  • Experience driving cross-program alignment, resource planning, and organizational scaling within a centralized engineering structure.
  • Strong background collaborating with government agencies, high-profile customers, and industry partners on mission-critical systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:
  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in an engineering field, particularly with aerospace or human-spaceflight relevance.
  • Direct experience with spacecraft electrical power systems, avionics integration, or communication architectures.
  • Prior experience with EVA systems, extravehicular equipment, or human-rated portable electronics.
  • Familiarity with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and digital engineering methodologies.
  • Track record of implementing organizational process improvements and technical standards that achieved measurable results.

Resumes should list employment dates in month/year format (e.g., January 2020 - March 2024) for each position to meet customer and contract documentation requirements.
