Position Overview

The Director - Cementitious Systems & Materials Engineering will lead the development, optimization, and deployment of advanced cementitious material systems across SIMCO and Structural Technologies.

This role is primarily aligned with SIMCO, with strong integration into Structural Technologies, and is responsible for ensuring that material systems are technically sound, scalable across operations, and effectively applied in the field. The position will also play a key role in establishing and developing laboratory and testing capabilities in the United States to support product development, validation, and performance evaluation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cementitious Systems Engineering :

Lead the development and optimization of cementitious material systems, including mix design, specialty concrete applications, and admixture strategies. Establish performance standards, application guidelines, and quality control protocols to ensure consistent and reliable results across projects and operating teams.
  • Product Deployment and Standardization

Support deployment of proprietary and engineered material systems across Structural Technologies projects. Work to standardize materials, application methods, and quality practices across regions and business units. Coordinate with suppliers and partners to ensure product consistency and scalable production.
  • Field Application and Technical Support

Provide technical leadership for complex and high-risk projects involving cementitious systems. Support engineering and construction teams with material selection, application methods, and troubleshooting of performance issues. Serve as a key escalation point for material-related challenges in the field.
  • SIMCO Integration and Asset Performance

Work closely with SIMCO engineering teams to connect concrete and cementitious material systems to asset management and lifecycle performance strategies. Contribute to the development of material performance data and support efforts to align repair materials with long-term durability and asset planning objectives.

  • Laboratory and Technical Infrastructure

Support the development and expansion of laboratory and testing capabilities in the United States. Establish testing protocols, quality control procedures, and material evaluation processes to support both product development and field validation.
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement

Evaluate new materials, technologies, and methodologies to improve performance, durability, and sustainability of cementitious systems. Support the transition of innovative solutions into practical, field-ready applications.

Working Environment

This position is based in Columbia, Maryland, and will work closely with both SIMCO and Structural Technologies teams. This role requires collaboration with internal engineering and operations groups, as well as external suppliers and technical partners
