Director, Business Operations

Responsibilities

The Director, Business Operations is responsible for operational capabilities, best practice governance, and mobilization and orchestration of resources across the media planning and activation end-to-end workflow. The Director, Business Operations role requires a deep understanding of client business requirements and the ability to adapt to the evolving needs of the business.

They are a trusted counsel and partner across the team and its leadership. As an extension of the team leadership, they help to ensure team accountability, goal setting and driving cross-functional projects that exceed client expectations.

Responsibilities
Drive cross-functional partnership, connectivity and collaboration across agency teams (Strategy, Investment, Marketing Science and Operations) - inclusive of integration between onshore and offshore resources
Identify and implement strategic operational process improvements through workflow definition, platform implementation & audit, and process engineering
Mobilize and direct optimal resource utilization and productivity, with a view to maximizing strategic output and efficiencies for ongoing service delivery while exceeding client expectations
Integrate operational best practices with project management know-how, embedding media expertise into workflow, process and project timelines (e.g. client and deliverable expectations, turnaround times, client escalations, client-facing deliverable consistency)
Define, deliver and report on projects goals and status
Maintain team's ways of working, including a commitment to documentation and project library maintenance
Review and direct workflow and communications for creative asset management team and deliverables
Lead team and advocate importance of process and structure for ways of working
Apply hands-on project management experience to enable strategic problem-solving across all relevant platforms
Efficiently track projects, project plans and deliverables, ensuring product and work quality

Qualifications

Minimum of 7 years of experience at a media agency with a focus on strategy, activation or account operation.
Strong knowledge of media planning, buying, and optimization across various channels.
Strong experience planning, implementing, monitoring, and completing projects while ensuring effective management of scope, resources, time, cost, quality, risk, and communications.
Capable of managing large, highly complex or strategic projects that impact the organization
Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a multi-disciplinary matrixed team
Strong Analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with the capability to derive actionable insights from data (advanced).
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build relationships with external partners.
Strong understanding of project management methodologies and process improvement techniques.
Proven ability to identify operational risks and proactively develop action solutions and able to engage diverse stakeholder groups to manage expectations.
Understanding of financial operations, budget management, strategic planning, and media activation.
Exceptional narrative skills, demonstrated ability to craft compelling stories that engage the audience, convey complex ideas clearly in order to effectively detail a strategy, problem, solution or Initiative.New York: $90,000.00-$215,000.00
