Job Responsibilities

  • Review complex corporate, partnership, trust, and individual tax returns for entertainment industry professionals, athletes, high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and their related entities.

  • Provide strategic tax planning and consulting, identifying opportunities to minimize tax exposure and support clients' long-term financial objectives.

  • Conduct technical tax research and provide guidance on complex tax matters.

  • Review accounting workpapers and supporting schedules related to tax return preparation.

  • Develop and nurture long-term client relationships by serving as a trusted advisor and delivering exceptional client service.

  • Develop practical solutions for clients and lead the implementation of tax planning strategies.

  • Define engagement objectives, scope, timelines, and deliverables in collaboration with clients and engagement teams.

  • Assess engagement staffing needs and ensure appropriate resources are assigned to meet client and business objectives.

  • Anticipate, identify, and resolve complex engagement issues while managing project risks and client expectations.

  • Maintain regular communication with clients, proactively providing updates and soliciting feedback throughout engagements.

  • Manage engagement economics, including budgets, realization, profitability, and overall financial performance.

  • Partner with firm leadership to develop practice strategy, support growth initiatives, and enhance service offerings to meet evolving market needs.

  • Identify opportunities to strengthen client retention, improve utilization, develop talent, and enhance operational effectiveness.

  • Drive business development efforts by cultivating existing client relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and supporting practice growth initiatives.

  • Coach, mentor, and develop managers, senior professionals, and staff while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment.

  • Promote knowledge sharing and technical development across the team.

  • Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to firm initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience required.

  • CPA license required.

  • Minimum of 9 years of progressive U.S. public accounting experience with increasing responsibility in tax compliance, consulting, client management, and people leadership.

  • Experience reviewing complex corporate, partnership, trust, and individual tax returns.

  • Experience serving entertainment industry professionals, athletes, high-net-worth individuals, family offices, or similarly complex clients.

  • Demonstrated success developing client relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and contributing to business development and practice growth initiatives.

  • Strong leadership, project management, and people development skills, including coaching and mentoring high-performing teams.

  • Strong technical tax research, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency with tax software and related technologies.

  • Commitment to delivering exceptional client service.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Taxation or related field.

  • Experience leading complex client engagements and managing multiple concurrent projects.

  • Experience developing and implementing tax planning strategies for high-net-worth individuals and closely held businesses.

Certain states require us to disclose the pay range and benefits summary for job openings. For Colorado residents, the compensation range for this position: $154,200 - $210,000. For Washington residents, Illinois residents, New York residents, and Southern California residents, the compensation range for this position: $169,600 - $231,000. For Northern California residents, the compensation range for this position: $177,300 - $241,500. Compensation may vary based on skills, role, and location. Eligible employees at certain levels can participate in a discretionary long-term financial incentive plan, subject to plan participation rules.
