Reporting to the Vice President of Business Intelligence, this leader will work directly with business stakeholders in Finance, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Product, and HR to align data definitions and build key measurements (KPIs) that inform strategic decisions. Additionally, this person will oversee data engineering, data science, governance, analytics, and enterprise application integrations while advancing AI-enabled business outcomes.

The ideal candidate combines technical depth, business acumen, and experience scaling high-performing BI teams in a global SaaS environment. This leader will connect data and analytics investments to measurable business value and strengthen both Employee Experience (EX) and Customer Experience (CX).

Key Responsibilities

  • BI Roadmap and Execution: Translate the BI strategy into a prioritized, multi-quarter roadmap and manage project intake and delivery in line with business priorities.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: A key aspect of this role, maintain strong strategic relationships and partner closely on high-priority initiatives for executive leadership.
  • AI-Enabled Analytics and Automation: Embed AI into the BI roadmap by partnering with business and IT leaders to identify, prioritize, and scale use cases with measurable business impact, adoption, and return on investment.
  • Predictive, Prescriptive, and Generative Analytics: Advance BI beyond historical reporting through forecasting, anomaly detection, risk scoring, next-best-action recommendations, natural-language querying, AI copilots, and automated insights that improve customer and business outcomes.
  • Data Platform, Architecture, and Governance: Oversee scalable and reliable data architecture, warehouses, models, semantic layers, metadata, and ETL/ELT pipelines. Establish service levels, documentation, governance, quality, security, and compliance standards that support analytics, AI, machine learning, and retrieval-based use cases.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Deliver executive dashboards, enterprise KPIs, self-service analytics, and near-real-time insights built on trusted data models. Drive adoption and ensure analytics products improve decision-making across functions.
  • Team Leadership: Hire, lead, and mentor a global team of BI engineers, data engineers, analysts, and data scientists. Set clear goals, build technical and AI capabilities, and support career growth.
  • Technology and Operational Excellence: Own the BI technology stack, vendor strategy, modernization roadmap, budget, and resource planning. Improve delivery speed, platform performance, and reporting quality through agile practices, automation, and disciplined operating processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. A masters degree or MBA is preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in business intelligence, data engineering, or enterprise data management, including at least five years leading technical teams and delivering scalable BI and analytics solutions in a high-growth, global software or SaaS environment.
  • Strong expertise in modern enterprise data platforms, including Snowflake, Power BI and/or Tableau, SQL, data warehousing, ETL/ELT, and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, with the ability to guide architecture and technical decisions.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise applications (ERP, CRM, HCM) and their data models, such as Salesforce, Workday and NetSuite.
  • Experience establishing data governance and quality frameworks and delivering measurable results through AI-enabled automation, predictive analytics, or productivity improvements.
  • Experience managing complex, multi-phase BI programs, competing priorities and budgets in fast-moving, sometimes ambiguous environments.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills, with the ability to influence across functions and regions and translate complex data into clear business value.
