Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings - carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose

The Director, Business Development will lead strategic growth initiatives supporting NVIDIA's PCS and DCBU businesses, with a focus on enabling next-generation AI infrastructure through ecosystem development, partner engagement, and cross-functional alignment.

This role is responsible for identifying and advancing strategic business opportunities across the global scale-up and scale-out ecosystem, while building strong relationships with key customers, partners, and industry stakeholders. The Director will work across hyperscalers, semiconductor companies, foundries, OSATs, optical technology providers, and system partners to help align ecosystem capabilities with NVIDIA's business and platform priorities.

A critical component of this role is the ability to triangulate information across NVIDIA teams globally, including business units, engineering, architecture, product management, operations, sales, and marketing. This individual will consolidate market intelligence, customer requirements, partner capabilities, technical dependencies, and internal priorities into clear recommendations and actionable plans. The role will also help drive technical requirements and specifications where needed to support commercialization, ecosystem readiness, and strategic customer opportunities.

This position requires a leader who can bridge business strategy and technical execution, influence across a highly matrixed global organization, and help accelerate alignment and decision-making across internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute business development strategies that support growth across NVIDIA's PCS and DCBU businesses.
  • Identify, prioritize, and advance strategic opportunities across the AI infrastructure ecosystem, including scale-up and scale-out architectures, interconnect, and related platform-enabling technologies.
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key customers, partners, and ecosystem stakeholders globally.
  • Engage across the semiconductor and infrastructure value chain, including chip companies, foundries, OSATs, system providers, hyperscalers, and technology partners.
  • Serve as a strategic interface between external partners and internal NVIDIA teams to align business opportunities with company priorities.
  • Triangulate information across global NVIDIA teams to synthesize customer needs, market trends, roadmap inputs, partner capabilities, supply chain considerations, and technical requirements into aligned business recommendations.
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, architecture, product management, operations, sales, and marketing teams to drive alignment on strategic priorities and execution plans.
  • Help define, influence, and align technical requirements and specifications where needed to support ecosystem readiness, product direction, and customer opportunities.

  • 15+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, product strategy, technical sales, or commercial leadership
  • Experience in semiconductor, AI infrastructure, optical connectivity, advanced packaging, data center, or related technology markets strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated success developing strategic partnerships and driving new business opportunities in complex technology ecosystems
  • Proven track record working across global customers, partners, and cross-functional teams
  • Experience translating customer and market requirements into product, platform, or technical direction
  • Strong understanding of ecosystem development, commercialization, and manufacturing readiness for emerging technologies
  • Experience operating effectively across North America, Asia, and other global regions preferred

The range for this position is $183,144.00 - $251,823.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
