Director, Business Development - Northeast (NE)Reporting to the Executive Director, Business Development, this individual will work closely with the Business Development team to drive new business within the Northeast (NE), including lead generation, pipeline management, deal negotiation, and key account management. Additionally, they will identify and develop strategic business opportunities within pharmaceutical and biotechnology organizations across the region.
The individual will work in close collaboration with cross-functional teams to support an aggressive growth strategy focused on pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. The Company has a significant opportunity to further penetrate existing clients, add new clients, and launch new products and services.
Responsibilities - Expand the Company's business in new and existing markets across the NE region. A "hunter" profile will be essential for success in this role
- Leverage the Company's relationships and reputation within the Translational Medicine and Clinical departments of pharmaceutical and biotechnology organizations. Expand CellCarta's reputation with key decision-makers to enhance the credibility of our products, services, and brand
- Work with the Executive Director, Business Development to develop monthly, annual, and multi-year sales forecasts and measure results against them
- Cultivate relationships with strategic pharmaceutical and biotechnology partners and work with the Business Development and management teams to expand sales opportunities within key accounts
Education - A degree in a life science subject such as immunology, biology, pathology, or genomics is required; an advanced degree is preferred
Main Requirements- Minimum of 2 years of proven business development and sales experience within a Contract Research Organization (CRO) or related bioanalytical services company
- Have a high level of credibility when interfacing with senior client representatives, with a proven sales track record
- Have a strong understanding of the biologics and drug development process, including clinical trial processes and the market dynamics driving pharmaceutical and biotechnology organizations
- Experience selling clinical biomarker testing solutions (e.g., immune monitoring, genomic testing, etc.) as well as an understanding of companion diagnostics (CDx) development is highly desirable
- Be able to communicate effectively with internal scientific and operational teams to help develop solutions that address unique client needs
- Be metrics-driven with strong organizational skills and a consistent track record of high achievement
- Ambitious, driven, and self-motivated, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume, and high-velocity, team-oriented sales environment
- Participate in client meetings, trade shows, and other industry forums
- Demonstrate integrity, ambition, drive, courage, and strong ethical standards, which are essential to the role
- Have a strong command of spoken and written English
Working Conditions- 100% remote work, although it is preferred that the candidate be located in the Greater Boston area
- Availability to travel approximately 50% of the time
