Full Job Description
Location: Mississauga, Ontario

Compensation: $90,000-$100,000 base salary, plus an OTE bonus structure, with additional bonuses available for exceeding established performance targets by 20% or more.

Status:(40+ Hours/Week), Monday - Friday 8:00 - 4:30 PM. Full Time

Key Responsibilities

Business Development and Relationship Building

  • Identify and pursue new opportunities for the full ATS Traffic product portfolio, with an emphasis on ITS, by developing relationships with key stakeholders in government, municipal, and engineering sectors.
  • Engage with decision-makers, influencers, and regulatory bodies to drive product specifications and adoption within targeted jurisdictions.
  • Work with government and industry partners to position ATS Traffic as a trusted leader in traffic and transportation solutions.
  • Develop and execute regional business plans that support the growth and adoption of the ITS Solutions category across Ontario and other ATS markets.

Market Expertise and Strategic Positioning

  • Serve as the organization's subject matter expert on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), while demonstrating strong technical acumen across the ATS Traffic product portfolio.
  • Stay informed on evolving government policies, technology standards, competitive offerings, and regional transportation needs to align ATS solutions with client specifications.
  • Use market insights to contribute to product positioning, marketing initiatives, and long-term strategic planning.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities and provide recommendations on product and service offerings that support the continued expansion of the ITS Solutions category.

Government Relations and Advocacy

  • Build and maintain relationships with ministries of transportation, municipalities, consulting engineers, electrical contractors, and other key stakeholders to ensure ATS products align with regional regulations and procurement specifications.
  • Participate in regulatory and industry forums to represent ATS Traffic and contribute to the development of industry standards and specifications.
  • Advocate for product inclusion in government programs, standards, and Requests for Proposal (RFPs) to increase product adoption.

Marketing, Education and Sales Team Support

  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop and execute targeted campaigns, case studies, product demonstrations, and promotional materials tailored to regional markets.
  • Provide frontline support to the sales team, including coaching, technical guidance, market strategy, and assistance with proposals and presentations.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a library of marketing and sales collateral aligned with customer and stakeholder requirements.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of internal educational resources and training programs that build organizational knowledge of ATS ITS solutions.
  • Deliver internal training sessions, Lunch & Learns, and educational presentations to strengthen the capabilities of the sales and operations teams.

Customer Education and Technical Consultation

  • Leverage strong technical acumen to consult with clients on specifications, system integrations, and product applications.
  • Support the sales and product teams with technical guidance on product capabilities, features, and customized solutions.
  • Conduct customer Vision Sessions, Lunch & Learns, product demonstrations, and educational presentations to promote awareness and adoption of ATS ITS solutions.
  • Serve as the technical resource for customers and internal stakeholders throughout the sales process.

Strategic Partnerships

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with strategic suppliers, manufacturers, and product partners to identify emerging technologies, support market growth, and increase adoption of ATS ITS solutions.

Reporting and Business Planning

  • Prepare monthly reports on ITS business development activities, project pipeline, sales opportunities, and market trends to support strategic decision-making.
  • Provide recommendations regarding product mix, market opportunities, and business strategies that contribute to the continued growth of the ITS Solutions category.

Travel and Remote Engagement

  • Conduct in-person meetings, presentations, demonstrations, customer Vision Sessions, and industry events, with travel primarily throughout Ontario and Western Canada.
  • Leverage remote engagement tools to maintain strong communication with internal teams and external stakeholders between travel engagements.

Performance Metrics

  • Market Penetration: Successful specification and adoption of products in new jurisdictions and targeted client sectors.
  • Relationship Building: Number and quality of strategic relationships established with government, engineering, municipal, and contracting stakeholders.
  • Sales Support Impact: Contribution to sales team success through technical expertise, proposals, training, and customer engagement.
  • Product Education: Delivery of internal training, Lunch & Learns, Vision Sessions, and educational initiatives that increase organizational and customer knowledge of ATS ITS solutions.
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in ITS and the broader ATS Traffic product portfolio.
  • Product Advocacy: Successful inclusion of products in government specifications, RFPs, standards, and strategic initiatives.

  • Strategic Reporting: Timely and accurate reporting on business development activities, project pipeline, and market opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, Commerce, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience.
  • 5-10 years of progressive experience in business development, technical sales, government relations, ITS, transportation, or a related industry.
  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to understand and communicate complex product capabilities.
  • Proven expertise in market analysis, government engagement, and regulatory awareness.
  • Experience developing educational programs, delivering presentations, and supporting organizational knowledge development is considered an asset.
  • Ability to travel throughout Ontario and Western Canada as required.
