Full Job Description
We are seeking a Director of Brand & Communications to lead the next phase of our brand and storytelling evolution. This role will own how Boston Dynamics shows up in the market, translating cutting-edge innovation into compelling, real-world value for customers, partners, and the broader ecosystem.

This is a strategic leadership position at the critical intersection of storytelling, commercialization, and market perception. You will own the integrated strategy for brand and communications to elevate Boston Dynamics from a viral innovation company to a robotics and AI enterprise solutions provider. You will lead and scale internal teams and external partners to ensure our brand narrative and top-level company messaging are consistent and impactful across earned and social media, sponsored content, shareholder and partner collaborations, and executive speaking engagements.

What You'll Do
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive corporate communications strategy, encompassing earned media, thought leadership, and internal communications.
  • Manage all external and internal communications, including news releases, public statements, and issues management/crisis communications.
  • Define, evolve, and govern Boston Dynamics' brand narrative and voice as we scale into new commercial and industrial markets.
  • Develop and execute media campaigns to support product launches, brand partnerships, and customer storytelling.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key journalists and industry influencers across business, tech, trades, and consumer media, plus manage our external brand and PR agency relationships.
  • Identify strategic executive speaking opportunities and support appearances with thought leadership narratives and content, and train new spokespeople as needed.
  • Direct the editorial content calendar and distribution plan in collaboration with our product marketing and demand generation teams.
  • Oversee our social media strategy across all platforms (LinkedIn, YouTube, X, Instagram, TikTok) to drive brand awareness, engagement, and pipeline creation.
  • Lead and mentor a small team of brand and communications professionals.
  • Establish KPIs and measurement frameworks that tie brand investment, communication activities (earned/owned/social), and events to tangible business impact.


What We're Looking For
  • Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications, public relations, and brand marketing, preferably within a hi-tech or industrial segment.
  • Strategic thinker with a proven ability to translate broad vision into clear, actionable execution.
  • Deep experience developing and leading global media relations and executive thought leadership programs.
  • Proven ability to scale integrated brand programs that directly support commercialization and revenue growth.
  • Experience building and executing crisis communications plans and issues management strategies.
  • Ability to interface professionally with senior level executives and provide clear, persuasive recommendations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technical details into approachable messaging for various audiences.
  • Experience leading complex events, including those involving physical products or large-scale hardware.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-evolving environment where structure is still being built.

The base pay range for this position is between $193,000.00 to $205,000.000 annually. Base pay will depend on multiple individualized factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This range represents a good-faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting. Boston Dynamics offers a generous Benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, and an annual bonus structure.
