Title: Director, Branch Operations

Location: 3735-8th Street Nisku, AB

Job Overview

Reporting to the Vice-President, Star Building Materials as the Director, Branch Operations you collaborate as a member of the Senior Leadership Team and are responsible for the overall management and operation of the branch. You plan, organize, and control the resources necessary to produce high quality products. You also develop and implement policies and procedures.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
  • Collaborating and providing guidance as a member of the Senior Leadership Team to generate strategies/plans to support Branch Operations.
  • Leading, motivating and supporting a team of staff while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and productivity.
  • Contributing to the development, documentation and successful execution of the annual business plan.
  • Developing and implement budgets with all middle management teams.
  • Leading and executing short- and long-term business goals in alignment with the company's overall strategy. (Profitability of the branch)
  • Developing, implementing and maintaining efficient systems and processes, in collaboration with other Senior Management team members to support the growth of the business.
  • Developing and executing strategic plans to support branch growth, labour planning, staffing
  • Overseeing daily plans to exceed expectations for productivity and order accuracy.
  • Fostering cooperation and consistency between Calgary and Edmonton manufacturing facilities.
  • Supporting projects, initiatives, and/or activities relating to operations as directed.

EssentialRequirements
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in operations, sales and manufacturing, with experience in a senior leadership role.
  • Warehouse management systems experience.
  • Proven leadership in guiding manufacturing teams, fostering loyalty, and creating employee engagement.
  • Valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Satisfactory verification of criminal record.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint and PowerPoint) and required software or applications.
