The Opportunity

There are two openings for this role.

The first role will focus on Member Protection and Fraud & Disputes. The incumbent will lead the digital strategy and execution for fraud prevention, disputes, claims, account security, and member protection experiences. This leader combines expertise in fraud, payments, authentication, and digital experiencesto deliver seamless, mobile-first experiences that protect members while balancing risk, regulatory requirements, and operational efficiency.

The second role will focus on Financial Wellness, Insights & Personalization. The person in this role will lead the strategy and delivery of digital experiences that help members better understand, manage, and improve their financial lives. This leader leverages customer insights, behavioral analytics, AI, personalization, and financial wellness capabilities to create proactive, data-driven experiences that deepen engagement and drive stronger financial outcomes.

This role is remote eligible in the continental U.S. with occasional business travel. However, individuals residing within a 60-mile radius of a USAA office will be expected to work on-site four days per week.

What youll do:

  • Leads an agile team(s) assigned to developing solutions for implementing the Banks business objectives aligned to the department and company strategy.
  • Responsible for creating and implementing policies and processes for delivering agile methodologies that will meet business results and are aligned to strategic business objectives and required outcomes. Accountable for Team-of-Teams level Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), as well as team-level OKRs; empowers teams within the Bank to deliver business outcomes against their OKRs.
  • Manages project assignments and prioritization of work for Agile teams. Oversees deliverables to ensure they are progressing in a timely manner and are aligned to objectives. Makes data driven decisions as needed related to funding and resource allocation.
  • Leads positive team dynamics, encourages collaboration and drives achievement of goals and OKRs. Ensure assigned Bank projects are completed within financial regulatory and compliance policies and that risk issues identified are mitigated as required.
  • Applies expert knowledge and removes escalated impediments to the teams success and assists in conflict resolution, issue and dependency management.
  • Coordinates, coaches, supports and guide leaders and teams in Agile principles, values and practices.
  • Maintains stakeholders informed of project status to include Senior Leaders. Builds consensus with alliances across the organization.
  • Assesses, utilizes, and partners with external resources and partners to meet agreed upon expectations.
  • Shares information about the portfolios output and direction with other Team of Team Leads and stakeholders to ensure alignment across the organization.
  • Builds and oversees a team dedicated to excellence through recruiting, developing, retaining, coaching, guiding, performance management and managerial activities.
  • Has full management responsibility for some members of the Agile team, e.g., Product Owner from their own business area, including responsibilities for hiring, firing, development and providing input on compensation decisions.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • Bachelors degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.
  • 8 years experience in product development, process improvement, project delivery, or business/requirements analysis to include 2 years of that experience within a financial services organization.
  • 3 years of direct team leadership experience or leading large matrixed, cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in marketing, strategy, digital, process, or user experience design within a financial organization.
  • Agile Scrum best practices and experienced being a product owner for a scrum team.
  • Knowledge and experience of multiple technical software delivery methodologies such as Agile, and SAFe.
  • Experience analyzing business requirements, process flows and use cases to drive decisions and identify opportunities to streamline business processes and end-to-end payments flows in accordance with risk management framework and regulatory, and network requirements.

What sets you apart:

  • 8+ years of digital product management experience, including leadership of customer-facing digital banking products across areas such as fraud prevention, disputes, financial wellness, personalization, customer engagement, onboarding, servicing, or self-service capabilities.
  • 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following domains:fraud prevention, Reg E/Reg Z disputes, member protection, payments and money movement, financial wellness, personal financial management (PFM), customer insights, or personalization solutions. Experience with platforms such asQuavo, aggregation providers, analytics platforms, or similar fintech ecosystems is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience leveraging data, behavioral analytics, AI, machine learning, or generative AI capabilitiesto improve customer experiences through personalization, intelligent recommendations, fraud mitigation, customer insights, proactive engagement, or digital self-service experiences.
  • Strong understanding ofdigital banking security, authentication, and identity experiences, including multifactor authentication, device trust, risk-based authentication, account security controls, and customer-facing security UX patterns within mobile and online banking environments.
  • Provenmobile-first product and UX mindset, with3+ years of experience delivering native iOS and Android experiences. Ability to simplify complex customer journeys through intuitive design, personalized experiences, and human-centered product thinking.
  • Experience supporting digital banking capabilities related topayments, money movement, transaction experiences, financial insights, fraud monitoring, or dispute servicing, with the ability to balance customer experience, operational efficiency, risk, and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated success leadinghigh-performing agile product teams, product pods, or scrum teamswithin fintech, digital-first banks, or large-scale digital organizations. Direct people leadership is preferred; strong indirect leadership, talent development, executive influence, and cross-functional delivery leadership will also be considered.
  • Proven ability to define product strategy and deliver measurable outcomes by bringing togethercustomer insights, data analytics, design thinking, technology, operations, risk, compliance, and emerging AI capabilitiesto improve member experiences and business performance.

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $143,320 - $273,930.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
