Description

The Pork Checkoff is looking for a Director of Audience Experience & Automation to help shape how people discover, engage with and move through our digital content and communications.

In this role, you will lead the strategy and execution of connected audience experiences across our digital channels, including web, email, landing pages, nurture journeys and audience engagement systems. You will serve as the communications team's audience experience architect, bringing together UX strategy, lifecycle engagement, HubSpot automation, personalization and content activation into one connected digital ecosystem.

This is a great opportunity for someone who thinks strategically, understands how audiences move through digital experiences and knows how to turn communications priorities into clear, useful and measurable engagement journeys.

What You'll Be Doing

You will lead and improve the way audiences engage with Pork Checkoff content across owned digital channels. This includes building connected journeys, improving the user experience and helping ensure the right messages reach the right audiences at the right time.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading HubSpot lifecycle architecture and engagement, including journeys, workflows, nurture programs, audience scoring, automation and reporting.
  • Designing and improving audience pathways across web, email, landing pages and other owned digital channels.
  • Leading UX and digital experience strategy with a focus on usability, accessibility, audience flow and reducing friction.
  • Developing information architecture and content pathways that make it easier for audiences to find and engage with relevant content.
  • Creating standards for personalization, calls to action, audience flow and consistent engagement experiences across Communications initiatives by translating segments and performance insights into scalable journeys.
  • Partnering closely with the content team to activate organizational messaging within digital journeys and campaigns.
  • Supporting website strategy, digital experience modernization and future platform planning.
  • Using audience behavior, engagement trends and journey analytics to improve performance over time.
  • Collaborating across teams to align audience experiences across digital and offline channels.


Requirements

We are looking for someone who brings a strong mix of digital strategy, audience experience, automation and systems thinking.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, User Experience, Business or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience leading digital engagement, UX, lifecycle marketing or owned-channel strategies.
  • Experience owning or significantly contributing to audience experience programs, digital ecosystems or lifecycle engagement strategies.
  • Strong experience with HubSpot Marketing Hub Professional or Enterprise, including workflow architecture, audience scoring, lifecycle management and reporting.
  • Experience designing and optimizing nurture journeys, engagement pathways and audience systems across web, email and digital channels.
  • Strong understanding of UX methodology, journey mapping, information architecture and digital channel best practices.
  • Experience integrating HubSpot, CMS platforms and related technologies into scalable digital ecosystems.
  • Ability to use audience insights, engagement data and journey performance metrics to improve digital experiences.
  • Experience translating communications goals and organizational priorities into practical, audience-centered digital experiences.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to influence decisions across teams.

Additional experience that would be helpful in this role includes:
  • Experience leading or playing a key role in a website redesign, digital transformation or digital experience modernization project.
  • Experience building or configuring AI-powered engagement tools, such as HubSpot Breeze AI, OpenAI integrations or workflow orchestration platforms.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards, including WCAG 2.1 or 2.2.
  • A demonstrated commitment to creating inclusive, accessible digital experiences.
  • Strong strategic communication, prioritization and organizational leadership skills.
  • Experience in agriculture, trade associations, membership organizations or other information-driven nonprofit environments.

National Pork Board's home office is in Clive, Iowa. Preference will be given to candidates that can work a hybrid schedule (at least 3 days per week) in the Clive office, however remote candidates may be considered. Approximately 10-15% travel required. Application deadline is 7/20, however, we may speak to qualified candidates prior to the close date.

Full-time starting salary range is $115-$145K. Please note: This starting range is based on a general market pay assessment. However, individual salary decisions take into account a variety of factors including but not limited to: business and local market considerations, internal equity, and overall candidate skills, education and experience.

The National Pork Board has responsibility for Checkoff-funded research, promotion and consumer information projects and for communicating with pork producers and the public. The Pork Checkoff funds national and state programs in advertising, consumer information, retail and foodservice marketing, export market promotion, production improvement, technology, swine health, pork safety and environmental management. Applicants should be able to able to support the mission of the organization with enthusiasm to serve U.S. pork producers.
