Job Category:Professional and Technical Organization:Office of Academic Compliance, Effectiveness, and Research Location/s:Main Campus Jackson Job Title:Director-Assessment-Academic Affairs Job Summary:Consistent with the institution's strategic planning initiatives and goals, the Director of Assessment will monitor, measure, and communicate broadly the institution's effectiveness toward meeting academic and administrative goals. The Director of Assessment will serve as a consultant to leaders and designated committees and groups tasked with carrying out the institution's strategic planning initiatives and goals in a manner compliant with accreditation requirements of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME), and other school and program-specific accreditation bodies. The Director of Assessment will be responsible for the timely collection, analysis, and editing of various forms of academic programmatic and curricular data and will be responsible for managing successful reporting cycle updates. Education & Experience Masters' degree and five years of related academic assessment experience. Terminal degree and accreditation experience preferred. CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED: NA Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of institutional assessment, strategic planning processes, and accreditation standards. Ability to manage projects, time, and resources and influence others to create a culture for data-driven institutional strategic planning and assessment. Knowledge of academic and administrative data collection and assessment best practices. Ability to utilize and leverage technology to aid in tracking and assessing stated institutional goals. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with a wide range of institutional constituents. Ability to create and present institutional assessment trainings to a wide range of constituencies, including the use of institutional assessment software. Ability to think critically and conduct complex data analyses using qualitative and quantitative data. Ability to report complex data in a clear, concise manner. Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team player. RESPONSIBILITIES - Monitors and measures the institution's established academic and administrative unit goals, including review of goals, measurement of goal outcomes, and effective use of outcomes. - Identifies, implements, and reviews institutional effectiveness indices and software for efficient and effective institutional assessment. - Develops and delivers conceptual, technical, and practical training regarding the institutional assessment processes and the software utilized to support the process. - Coordinates the collection, analysis, documentation, and interpretation of selected institutional assessment-related data. - Develops and manages processes for the effective dissemination and communication of the institution's assessment efforts and activities. - Organizes, composes and writes accreditation and institutional assessment-related reports and prepares related reports as required for communication with senior leaders and others. - The duties listed are general in nature and are examples of the duties and responsibilities performed and are not meant to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive.
