Job Description Join a dynamic, student-centered institution as the Director of Advising and Onboarding Services, where you will provide strategic leadership for the College's Student Success Center across multiple campuses. This role offers the opportunity to shape innovative onboarding and advising experiences that ensure students receive timely, accurate, and engaging support from entry through persistence. You will collaborate closely with faculty, staff, and campus partners to deliver integrated services both in-person and virtually. Min Salary $87,149.16
Mid Salary $98,042.81- We offer a competitive salary package that will be determined based on the candidate's experience level and qualifications related to the job. Compensation will be commensurate with your level of experience
Duties/FunctionsDifficult ChallengesContactsEducation Required - Earned Bachelor's degree in Education, Business or a related field
Education Preferred - Master's or Doctoral degree in Education, Counseling, or related field
Experience Required - Five years of supervisory experience in higher education including hiring, scheduling, and evaluating staff performance
- Two years of budget experience with monitoring, compliance, and reporting
- Two years of experience in the field of education providing direct student support
- Experience working in a fast-paced service delivery area
- Experience in leading/advancing a broad range of student support services, including student development, new student online orientation, new student advising, and international student services/SEVIS.
Experience Preferred - Six or more years of supervisory experience in higher education including hiring, scheduling, and evaluating staff performance in a multi-campus environment
- Experience working in a community college student advising office
- Three or more years of experience in the field of higher education providing direct student support
- Experience developing and delivering student onboarding and online orientation
- Experience supervising staff in remote work locations
KSA Required - Possesses a strong understanding of Student Development Theory and how theory informs practice in an educational setting, and uses this knowledge to develop and execute strategically targeted retention intervention programs with the student success center in collaboration with other departments collegewide.
- Ability to collect, utilize and analyze data to inform practice and to improve student success and retention.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with a variety of staff in cross-college settings.
- Excellent interpersonal skills in the areas of collaboration, team participation, creative problem-solving, conflict resolution, group planning, and decision-making processes.
- Ability to use computers and related technology. Familiarity with integrating online and web-based tools and the willingness to implement those tools which support academic advising and college retention efforts, while understanding the challenges that students and staff face with technology.
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills coupled with the desire to work collaboratively with others from across the college and the ability to delegate responsibilities and hold others accountable.
- Good judgment, and the willingness to support and enforce college policy and procedures.
KSA Preferred - Experience with the community college system and an understanding of the philosophy and mission of the community college.
Department/Job Specific Requirements - Must be able to travel to other campuses and off-site meetings, some requiring overnight stay
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of student records.
- Willing to work evenings and weekends when necessary.
