Full Job Description
Position Summary

Position directs administration for Tandon's Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering (MAE), ensuring operational excellence and service. Direct the development and implementation of short and long-term department/operational strategies. Develop and manage departmental budgets. Manage and evaluate the design, development, and implementation of department programs, policies, procedures, and controls for initiatives. Direct the administrative execution of MAE's academic programs and new initiatives, including Robotics Center. Develop and supervise the department's academic advising and retention efforts. Resolve complex issues requiring coordination across multiple Tandon teams. Analyze and interpret statistics, enrollment data and management planning data for evaluating resource needs and developing long-range plans. Oversee all non-curricular aspects of the department's programs (marketing, recruitment, admissions, finance, technology, enrollment, retention goals/initiatives, etc.). Serve as the point of contact for technical advice, problem-solving assistance, answers to questions regarding department/program goals, policy interpretation; collaborating globally with colleagues in supporting the department and its students.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in a related area

Required Experience:
7+ years Develop, plan and manage communications and public relations efforts (websites, posters, brochures, newsletters, press releases, annual reports, fundraising efforts). Oversee department website, ensure updated info on faculty and student and awards, research and projects. Promote department events and accomplishments. Strategize on opportunities for program outreach and visibility, managing budgets and supervision.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent leadership, planning, management, networking, and presentation skills. Ability to negotiate solutions to resolve problems and persuade others when some differences of opinion may exist. Must demonstrate the ability to work as a team member; to think creatively; and to evaluate and improve existing processes and procedures. Must have strong and polished written and oral communication skills. The position demands significant attention to detail, effective communications, team collaboration, and occasional work on weekends. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and knowledge of other PC programs.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $102,000.00 to USD $142,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
