IT workforce development program. This position is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the successful delivery of technology training, professional development services, employer engagement activities, and employment placement outcomes for individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment.
Reporting to the VP of Workforce and Economic Development, the Program Director oversees all aspects of program administration, staff supervision, compliance, participant outcomes, community partnerships, employer engagement, and fiscal stewardship. The Program Director serves as the primary point of accountability for program performance and is responsible for ensuring participants achieve industry-recognized credentials, competitive integrated employment, and long-term career success.
This position works collaboratively with Humanim leadership, employers, educational partners, vocational rehabilitation agencies, and community stakeholders to advance Humanim's mission.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIESProgram Leadership & Operations- Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day operational oversight of the abilIT program.
- Develop annual program goals, objectives, performance metrics, and implementation plans aligned with organizational priorities and funding requirements.
- Ensure all program activities are delivered in accordance with Humanim policies, funding requirements, accreditation standards, and abilIT standard practices.
- Lead the development and implementation of program policies, procedures, workflows, and quality assurance processes.
- Monitor participant enrollment, retention, completion, credential attainment, employment placement, and retention outcomes.
- Analyze program performance, identify opportunities for program innovation, expansion, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of workforce development trends, technology career pathways, disability employment practices, and labor market conditions.
Staff Leadership & Supervision- Directly supervise and provide leadership to the Technology Instructor, Professional Development Instructor, Job Development Specialist, and other assigned personnel.
- Conduct regular supervision meetings, performance evaluations, coaching sessions, and professional development activities.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture.
- Provide ongoing guidance regarding participant engagement, instructional strategies, employment services, documentation standards, and outcome achievement.
- Support staff in developing individualized professional development plans and career advancement goals.
- Ensure staff maintain compliance with required certifications, trainings, and professional standards.
Participant Services & Outcomes- Ensure participants receive high-quality, person-centered services that support successful completion of training and employment goals.
- Oversee participant recruitment, outreach, intake, assessment, selection, and enrollment activities.
- Ensure participant support services are coordinated effectively to promote retention and success.
- Review participant progress and intervene when barriers to completion or employment are identified.
- Promote equitable access to services and ensure accommodations are provided in accordance with disability inclusion best practices.
- Monitor participant satisfaction and implement improvements based on participant feedback.
Employer Engagement & Workforce Partnerships- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with employers, workforce agencies, educational institutions, vocational rehabilitation agencies, and community organizations.
- Identify emerging workforce opportunities and technology career pathways that align with participant interests and employer demand.
- Collaborate with employers to develop hiring pipelines, internship opportunities, work-based learning experiences, and employment opportunities.
- Represent Humanim and abilIT at workforce development meetings, business events, conferences, and community forums.
- Promote disability inclusion and educate employers regarding best practices for hiring and retaining employees with disabilities.
- Expand employer engagement activities to increase placement opportunities and strengthen workforce partnerships.
Budget & Fiscal Management- Monitor program expenditures and ensure responsible stewardship of financial resources.
- Assist in the development and management of annual program budgets.
- Review budget performance and recommend adjustments as needed.
- Monitor resource allocation to ensure efficient and effective program operations.
- Ensure compliance with all grant, contract, and funding source requirements.
- Support grant budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
Data Management & Continuous Improvement- Monitor key performance indicators for participant success in accordance with overarching abilIT requirements. Track and report data using pre-established formats to abilIT Across America monthly and quarterly as required.
- Utilize data to inform strategic planning and program decision-making.
- Identify trends, barriers, and opportunities for enhancing participant outcomes.
Community Engagement & Advocacy- Serve as an ambassador for Humanim and abilIT throughout the community.
- Build relationships with public agencies, businesses, educational institutions, and advocacy organizations.
- Promote awareness of technology workforce opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
- Support organizational initiatives that advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.
Additional Responsibilities- Maintain confidentiality of participant, employer, and organizational information.
- Adhere to Humanim policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
- Participate in organizational committees, meetings, and special projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Workforce Development, Human Services, Education, Business Administration, Public Administration, Information Technology, Rehabilitation Counseling, or a related field required.
- Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible workforce development, human services, vocational rehabilitation, education, or employment services experience.
• Experience conducting competency-based training and informing the development of training plans preferred.
• Experience with not-for-profit organizations is preferred.
• Experience with a Developmental Disabil
ities service provider is desired.
• Experience developing employer partnerships and workforce initiatives preferred.
• Strong abil
ity to think creatively and develop strong internal and external relationships.
• Must be confident and comfortable working independently.
• Successful track record using database software, information management, and learning management systems.
• High level of organizational and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
