The Opportunity:

As Director, Field Sales & Account Management, you will lead the commercial team responsible for box sales across the Atlanta Area, including Sales Representatives, Account Managers, and Designers. You will be responsible for driving profitable growth, developing talent, and partnering Operations to deliver customer-focused solutions that leverage the capabilities of multiple manufacturing facilities across the Area.

Serving as the commercial quarterback for the Atlanta Area, you will align customer needs with plant capabilities, identify the best solutions to support growth and profitability, and help maximize the value Smurfit Westrock delivers to customers. You will maintain a deep understanding of business performance through base business analysis, growth opportunities, attrition trends, account profitability, and year-over-year customer results.

How you will impact Smurfit Westrock

  • Lead the Sales, Account Management, and Design teams responsible for box sales across the Atlanta Area, driving performance against volume and profit objectives.
  • Drive commercial excellence across the Atlanta Area by accelerating new business development, expanding existing customer relationships, improving margins, and leveraging enterprise capabilities to achieve growth targets.
  • Partner with Operations and Area leadership to identify opportunities that align customer requirements with plant capabilities, capacity, and strategic priorities.
  • Serve as a trusted commercial leader and customer advocate by developing solutions that leverage the strengths of multiple facilities across the Atlanta Area network.
  • Support the development of annual revenue, volume, and profitability plans by providing account-level insights, market intelligence, and pipeline forecasting.
  • Monitor account and portfolio profitability, evaluate business performance against established objectives, and develop action plans to improve results.
  • Understand market dynamics, customer needs, and industry trends to support long-term commercial strategies and sustainable growth.
  • Coach and develop Sales Representatives, Account Managers, and Designers while building a high-performing, customer-focused team.
  • Collaborate closely with Pricing, Operations, Customer Service, and other functional teams to deliver outstanding customer experience and profitable growth.
  • Build strong relationships across Smurfit Westrock to leverage enterprise capabilities and create additional revenue opportunities for customers.


What you need to succeed:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3 to 5 years business-to-business (B2B) Sales experience in a manufacturing/service industry with management or coaching responsibility
  • 5+ years of related experience in sales execution and pipeline management
  • Ability to drive results through others and adjust coaching methods, as needed
  • Ability to create and deliver engaging presentations to internal and external audiences
  • Demonstrated sales competence and financial acumen
  • Ability to provide clarity to complex problems and develop long-term solutions
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines and interact effectively with people from varying functions and levels
  • Possess a broad understanding of different types of equipment, and technical and packaging capabilities related to the packaging industry
  • Possess effective leadership qualities and insightful business judgment
  • Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Salesforce applications
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills
