Responsibilities Laurel Heights Hospital located in Atlanta Georgia has a Full-time position for a Director of Environment of Care or Director Of Plant Operations. This position manages Dietary, Housekeeping, Maintenance and is the Safety Officer. Laurel Heights Hospital is an intensive Residential Treatment/Acute and Autism Spectrum Disorders Program for children and adolescents. We serve and treat severe and complex psychiatric and behavioral difficulties and co-occurring psychiatric issues. We provide a caring, therapeutic setting with various therapeutic modalities and applied behavior analysis services.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the facility meets OSHA, CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services), and state health and safety standards fire codes, and healthcare facility standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits, identify hazards (e.g., fire, slips, falls, chemical exposure), and implement corrective actions
- Maintain accurate records of work orders, inspections, and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate contractors and vendors for specialized work, renovations, or emergency repairs.
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, laundry, and building systems.
- Plan, direct, and evaluate the daily operation of the dietary department in accordance with the applicable federal and state regulations.
- Ensure that food and snacks are prepared from standardized recipes and served in the correct portion and temperature.
- Maintain current diet cards and tray cards that reflect physician diet orders, resident preferences, allergies, and care plan interventions; or provide substitutes of comparable nutritive value and document accordingly.
- Ensure that snacks and nourishments are prepared and delivered as ordered.
- Enforce proper personal hygiene, handwashing, glove use, hair restraints, and employee health and illness-reporting requirements.
- Report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, and departmental injuries to the COO.
- Attend department head and facility meetings as scheduled.
- Manage cleanliness, service, and product quality standards in guest rooms, public spaces, offices, and meeting areas.
- Oversee and perform room and public area inspections to maintain high-quality standards and compliance.
Qualifications Three to five years of active experience as a Director in a hospital setting preferably Safety that includes but not limited to: experience in estimating maintenance and repair costs, experience in all phases of building maintenance, strong problem solving and negotiating experience.
Use of total quality management "TQM" to lead the work of maintenance staff. Safety management experience that includes experience in development, implementation and monitoring of safety programs.
Employee must have a valid Georgia's Drivers License.
Bachelor's degree in a related field or management preferred.
