Full Job Description
For roles that are 100% remote or hybrid, you must have access to a reliable high-speed internet connection to support daily job responsibilities. A minimum bandwidth of 50 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload is required. Those fully remote associates residing in states where service is required by contract, law, or regulation will be allowed to submit for reimbursement.

Role Overview

The Director Enterprise Portfolio & Capabilities will be responsible for leading the strategy, design, planning, and execution required to successfully govern, oversee, and realize value from the strategic investment portfolio in alignment with our long- and short-term strategic goals. The Director will report to the Vice President of Business Excellence, overseeing a team of manager, senior analysts, and analysts with expertise in enterprise investment portfolio management. The Director will be a trusted advisor, engaging with the most senior-level leaders of the organization, including Executive Council members, corporate leaders, and product leaders. This role is accountable for ensuring successful portfolio investment roadmap planning, intake management, execution oversight, and value realization.

Work Arrangement
  • This is a hybrid, office based position working at our Ellis Preserve office located in Newtown Square, PA.
  • Office days are Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday; Remote days are Monday & Friday

Responsibilities
  • Partners with Strategy & Planning teams to translate our Enterprise Strategy and Business plan to develop short- and long-term investment roadmaps aligned to core capability investment roadmaps
  • Maintain a multi-year Portfolio roadmap and drive regular reviews with EPO leadership and governance bodies. Ensure delivery of the portfolio, with the goal of optimizing benefits, mitigating risks, and resolving issues impacting the overall portfolio health

  • Manage investment identification, intake, approval, and prioritization process required to effectively govern all strategic investment requests and deliver value commensurate with the commitments of the Strategy and needs of the Enterprise
  • Developing and maintaining the end-to-end processes, tools, and constructs that enable effective value realization of the Enterprise Portfolio
  • Works closely with Business executives, finance leadership, and IS to advance sound business cases for all project investment requests, leveraging a standardized process to ensure proper validation
  • Partners with PMO leadership, responsible for project execution, to ensure effective program and project oversight exists to properly track and trend execution and goal achievement with visibility through governance forums
  • Monitor and track identified value for all approved programs and projects within the enterprise portfolio across identification through the first year of value realization, ensuring all stated financial value is incorporated in financial planning
  • Provides a continuous monitoring/feedback mechanism to the Strategy domain to adjust the current course for existing investments and to help shape capability roadmaps for future investment considerations
  • Provide timely, accurate information, dashboards, and reports of the enterprise portfolio and all associated KPIs
  • Creates a cohesive, high-performing team by providing leadership that engages all staff, including the clear establishment of roles and accountability, project goals, performance metrics, coaching, and positive morale

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required. Focus in Business, Health Care Administration, Finance, or Engineering preferred; Master's Degree preferred
  • At least ten (10)+ years of previous leadership or management experience managing multiple and conflicting priorities
  • At least five (5)+ years of portfolio management experience and Healthcare Payer experience
  • Advanced knowledge of qualitative and quantitative methodologies and processes for strategic planning and portfolio management
  • Proven track record leading multiple successful strategic/portfolio planning efforts in a comparably complex environment
  • Experience in corporate planning, strategy, and finance related to portfolio and program management
  • Healthcare industry experience (i.e.: Provider, Quality, Revenue Mngt.)
  • Strong track record of building and leading high-performing teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, and presentation skills
  • Strong facilitation skills, and the ability to engage, challenge, and influence thinking to effect change throughout the organization
  • Strong analytic and intellectual abilities with an entrepreneurial spirit and drive
  • High degree of problem-solving and decision-making quality. Very quick thinker with the ability to see the system through all the details
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate courageous dialogue, challenge opinions, and influence decision-making at the highest levels of the organization
  • Customer-oriented approach to working with direct reports, peers, customers, and other stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance and business case development
