Job Title: Director, Education - Yves Saint Laurent Beauty

Reports to: AVP, Education

Location: Field/Remote

What You Will Do

The Director of Education for YSL Beauty will develop and implement a compelling education strategy that aligns with and amplifies the brand's strategy, establishing YSL Beauty as the leading voice in education within the beauty industry. This role requires a passionate, visionary, and highly skilled leader who possesses:
  • Stewardship of the YSL Brand: Serving as the ultimate embodiment of the brand, communicating its rich DNA, heritage, and unique aesthetic across all internal and external touchpoints.
  • Strategic Vision: Deep expertise and a proven ability to design and deliver highly engaging, disruptive educational content across both digital and physical platforms.
  • Advocacy & Engagement: Responsibility for driving deep brand engagement across the network, managing the educational budget, and collaborating cross-functionally to achieve overall company objectives.
  • Retail Landscape Savvy: Understanding of the US market, including key retail environments, BA needs and consumer expectations

This would include, but would not be limited to, the following accountabilities:

Key Accountabilities
  • Strategic Partnership & Content: Collaborate closely with Global and US Marketing teams to identify, localize, and develop highly impactful US education content, curriculum, and storytelling.
  • Retailer Partnership: Establish and nurture strategic, corporate-level partnerships with retail accounts to co-create tailored educational programs that drive mutual business growth and exceptional in-store experiences.
  • Expert Facilitation & Program Delivery: Oversee the deployment and lead the expert facilitation of brand educational programs across multiple touchpoints-including high-profile in-person workshops, online training platforms, and dynamic live/virtual events and shows.
  • Artist Engagement & Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of pro advocates and educators. Foster a highly engaged community of brand advocates through regular, inspiring digital and in-person touchpoints. Provide continuous feedback and coaching to ensure flawless and consistent execution.
  • Train-the-Trainer Programs: Design and implement rigorous training programs for both internal and external educators to guarantee consistent, high-standard delivery of YSL Beauty brand codes and content.
  • Operational Excellence & Deliverables: Ensure the disciplined, timely completion of all educational deliverables, assets, and project timelines.
  • Budget Management: Manage and optimize the educational budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and maximizing return on investment (ROI).
  • Performance Measurement: Track, analyze, and report on key educational metrics and KPIs to continuously assess program effectiveness and identify areas for optimization.
  • Innovation & Trends: Stay ahead of the curve regarding industry trends, digital learning technologies, and beauty techniques. Integrate modern technologies and developments into educational programs to keep YSL Beauty at the forefront of the industry.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, and corporate Education teams to align all educational initiatives with product launch calendars and overarching commercial strategies.

Required Competencies and Interpersonal Skills
  • Experience & Expertise: 10+ years of progressive experience in luxury beauty education, artistry, or brand management. Considered a recognized discipline expert within the industry.
  • Problem Solving: Proven ability to solve unique, complex problems that have a broad impact on the business, leveraging existing methodologies and functional knowledge to lead others.
  • Industry Influence: Capable of setting operational standards around which others operate within the educational and artistry field.
  • Leadership & Project Management: Demonstrated success leading major programs, complex projects, and diverse, multi-functional teams.
  • Expert Facilitation & Communication: Outstanding platform skills, expert facilitation abilities, and the ability to present to large audiences, corporate retailers, and senior executives.
  • Digital Mastery: Strong understanding of modern digital learning tools, virtual platforms, and social-first educational content.
  • Business Acumen: Strong organizational skills, time management, and a track record of managing budgets and resources effectively.
  • Technical Proficiency: Mastery of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
