Responsibilities

Lincoln Prairie Behavioral Health Center is a 97-bed facility located in Springfield, Illinois. We are dedicated to providing youth with compassionate mental health treatment that encourages self-responsibility and personal growth. We are the only facility of our kind in Central Illinois! We provide psychiatric treatment to children and adolescents that present with a broad range of psychiatric and behavioral disorders. A clinically skilled multidisciplinary team works to partner with the youth and family to accomplish their goals in a supportive and therapeutic environment.

The Director of Clinical Services provides the leadership and strategic planning of the clinical services programs offered at Lincoln Prairie Behavioral Health Center, ensuring programs meet the needs of the community and the facility's performance goals and objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of TJC, CMS, OSHA regulations, and patient rights standards and all other applicable federal and state laws and regulations governing mental health care facilities.

Qualifications

Duties and Responsibilities: Responsibilities include the overall administrative processes and management systems for all clinical services offered at the facility, promotion and maintenance of a therapeutic environment, and development and implementation of a clinical treatment program.
  • Represent the Clinical Services Department at the executive level and in consultation with the Medical Director, plan, develop and implement formal and organized clinical services programs as part of the therapeutic environment.
  • Develop and organize programs of clinical services based on specialized patient populations.
  • Participate in developing, justifying and controlling the annual budget for department personnel, facilities and equipment.
  • Develop goals, objectives, policies and procedures related to the operational needs of the programs staff and patient care.
  • Consult with facility management in the development and facilitation of program activities which assure an optimal therapeutic experience for all patients.
  • Meet regularly with program managers and the Medical Director and program staff to ensure compliance with program goals and objectives.
  • Serve on Facility Committees and attend all committee meetings as assigned.
  • Interface with community agencies related to delivery of clinical services, education and recruitment.
  • Provide services to current referral sources to assure their satisfaction and continued associations.
  • Maintain and allocate a qualified core of staff resources, managing resource utilization and justifying usage and budget projections.
  • Assure adequate supervision and evaluation processes for all staff members and delegate these responsibilities as appropriate.
  • Conduct department meetings on a regular basis and ensure minutes are posted and available for the staff.
  • Ensure interdisciplinary treatment planning is organized with participation of all appropriate clinical disciplines.
  • Ensure that a system is developed to provide continuity of care and communication with family and appropriate referral sources, and ensure the system is evaluated and reviewed regularly.

Requirements:
  • A working knowledge of behavioral health management practices and clinical operations.
  • Education : Master's degree in psychology, social work, or another meanth health field.
  • Experience : Minimum of five (5) years experience in psychiatric/mental health field. Prefer candidates with a minimum of three (3) years experience in advanced clinical/management practice.
  • License: Appropriate state licensure in mental health. Preference will be given to candidates holding a LCSW licensure or greater.
  • Additional Requirements : A strong knowledge of JCAHO, HCFA, OSHA regulations, and patient rights standards and all other applicable federal and state laws and regulations governing mental health care facilities.
