WHY THIS ROLEAs a Digitization Project Manager, you will bridge the gap between historical utility data and actionable digital insights. By translating complex subsurface utility records into GIS and CAD formats, you will directly empower our customers to build safer and faster. Additionally, you will take on key program and project management responsibilities, stepping up to mentor junior employees to foster a culture of technical and operational excellence.
This is a customer and delivery-focused role. You'll own a portfolio of customers and projects and make sure CivilGrid's insights are delivered to them on-time and with high quality. This role reports to the Head of Product Operations. It is a remote position in the US or Canada with a strong preference for candidates in Kansas City, Charlotte, or Denver.
WHAT YOU'LL DOYou will be a key player on a specialized team of industry practitioners, bringing deep Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) expertise and operating in our fast-moving startup environment.
Your core role is
Project & Delivery Management:
- Provide expert-level markup, interpretation, and guidance of complex utility engineering records, as-builts, and historical plan sets.
- Conduct rigorous QA/QC on digitized deliverables to ensure absolute accuracy before they reach the CivilGrid platform.
- Manage and lead delivery-focused teams (Customer Success, GIS, Utilities Research, etc.) to complete utilities research projects. You own the scheduling, prioritization, and resource allocation for your projects.
- Mentor junior employees by sharing your deep industry and technical knowledge, and coach them through completing complex projects.
- Design and implement QAQC frameworks and data validation pipelines.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING- Civil and Utilities Expertise: 5+ years of experience in civil design, subsurface utilities engineering, and utilities mapping.
- The Process Builder Mindset: You love taking complex, unstructured problems and creating order out of them. You're not afraid to tackle uncertainty, but your instinct is to organize and systematize.
- Broad Technical Proficiency: You have a working understanding and user competency in GIS, CAD, and other industry data and design tools. You're proficient with project management software (we use Linear).
- Humble and Collaborative: You have a "sweep the floors" mentality. No task is beneath you if it helps the team deliver for the customer. You communicate complex technical blockers plainly and constructively.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITSThe base salary range for this role is $100,000 - $150,000.

The base salary range listed above may encompass various levels and/or geographic locations; final offers are determined based on the candidate's experience, skills, level, and work location.
