Position Summary

Ethic Tech, LLC is seeking a Digital Workflow Prototyping Specialist that will work directly with users and process owners to identify manual or fragmented workflows and turn them into testable digital solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Map current processes, define requirements, and personally design, build, integrate, and test proofs of concept and operational pilots using approved tools outside the Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Configure forms, data capture, business rules, routing, approvals, and user access; connect solutions to approved data sources.
  • Improving prototypes based on user testing and feedback.
  • Assessing operational results and technical constraints, document how solutions work, and technical constraints, document how solutions work, and preparing successful pilots for transition to enterprise development or long-term support.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Engineering, Human-Centered Design, Business Process Management, Business Information Technology, or a closely related field; or at least five years of directly relevant professional experience in lieu of the degree.
  • Experience must cover at least two of these areas: low-code/no-code or configurable-application development, workflow automation, software or web application development, business-process digitization, or rapid prototyping and minimum-viable-product development.
  • Twelve (12) months of hands-on experience within the past 24 months performing digital application, workflow, or prototype development, including at least one personally developed solution used in an active business process or operational pilot within the past 18 months.
  • Minimum of two (2) years within the past five years personally developing applications or workflows with non-Microsoft rapid development technologies, including hands-on work within the past 24 months. Must have developed at least two solutions using at least two distinct non-Microsoft platforms, frameworks, or application-development technologies.
  • At least one personally developed solution with substantive functionality beyond a basic form or template, such as structured data relationships, integration with multiple sources, or custom scripts or components.
  • Experience personally developing at least two prototypes or pilots from requirements discovery through testing with users. At least one must have been available to representative users within 90 calendar days of initial discovery, and at least one qualifying example must be from the past 24 months.
  • Minimum of two (2) years within the past five years working directly with users or process owners to analyze existing processes and design improved digital workflows, including at least one example within the past three years.
  • Hands-on experience within the past five (5) years extending or integrating applications beyond basic platform configuration, including an example within the past 24 months. Examples of qualifying methods include REST APIs, relational databases or SQL, webhooks or web services, structured data exchange, general-purpose languages such as Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, or C, and custom scripts or components. Must demonstrate at least two qualifying technical areas and an integration with an existing enterprise or authoritative data source.
  • Experience conducting user testing or operational pilots for personally developed solutions within the past five years. Must have at least two examples of modifying a solution based on representative-user feedback or observed issues, including one within the past 24 months.
  • Hands-on experience applying structured testing or defect tracking and development controls such as source/version control, separation of environments, or controlled deployment. Must also have adapted a solution to a documented technical or security constraint within the past 24 months.
  • Experience preparing a personally developed solution for handoff, continued development, scaling, or sustainment by another team, including an example within the past three years.
  • Experience evaluating and communicating prototype or pilot results to decision-makers, including at least two examples within the past five years and one within the past three years.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and collaborative software.


Clearance and Licenses Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • An active NATO or national Secret clearance or higher.
  • Must have a valid passport from a NATO member nation without travel restrictions to NATO nations.


Travel Requirements
  • Ability to work on-site in Norfolk, Virginia, and travel to meetings and conferences for up to 30 days per year.
