As a Digital Product Manager III you will support the business objectives of the Landscapes and Contractors Group (L&C) – which consists of the Toro, Exmark, and Spartan brands – by defining and executing the digital product vision and roadmap for a unified, app-based, connected landscape management ecosystem. Key functions include owning the multi-year digital product roadmap for several applications and connected devices, translating customer and business needs into technical requirements in partnership with engineering teams, defining the data strategy for connected devices, and representing the digital roadmap to divisional and executive leadership.

What Will You Do?
  • Define and evangelize the digital product vision and multi-year roadmap for the digital solutions aligned to Toro's autonomous, alternative energy, and smart connected innovation pillars.
  • Apply design thinking and customer discovery practices to translate ambiguous customer and business needs into validated product requirements, personas, userstories and acceptance criteria that drive innovative solutions and enable effective technical execution.
  • Define the digital product requirements needed to support multi-device interoperability, partnering with engineering on API design, device communication protocols (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, etc.), cloud data models, and OTA firmware update strategy.
  • Lead the alignment of product vision, roadmap execution, technology platforms and organizational strategy while setting and prioritizing the backlog across cross-functional teams using agile methodologies to deliver scalable, sustainable and commercially successful solutions.
  • Partner with engineering teams on solution requirements to ensure the app experience and physical product are designed together, not bolted on afterward.
  • Define and track key product metrics (activation, device attach rate, active use, automation adoption, churn, support ticket rate) to drive roadmap trade-offs.
  • Own the competitive strategy for the connected landscape management category, including positioning against key players.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen customer relationships and deliver greater value by continuously evaluating customer behavior, feedback, analytics, and insights from qualitative research.
  • Partner with engineering teams on data strategy and rights framework for first- and third-party/OEM connected devices, including data ownership and privacy considerations.
  • Represent the digital product roadmap in executive and board-level forums, translating technical details into business impact and investment rationale.
  • Partner with Legal, Security, and Enterprise IT on data privacy, cybersecurity, and connected-device compliance requirements across all supported devices.

What Do You Need?
  • Strong interpersonal communication abilities and excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Deep analytical skills, including comfort with product metrics, market-sizing models, and data-driven roadmap decisions.
  • Experience in creating and executing strategic digital product roadmaps.
  • Experience in designing the digital product portfolio vision and strategy to meet key business objectives.
  • Exceptional leadership and project management skills with the ability to orchestrate complex, enterprise-wide initiatives, align diverse stakeholder interests, and make strategic prioritization and investment decisions that maximize customer and business value.

  • Proven agile product delivery experience (Scrum or Kanban), including backlog ownership and cross-functional stakeholder management.
  • Working technical familiarity with mobile app architecture, cloud backend concepts, and wireless connectivity protocols common to consumer and business IoT (Bluetooth LE, Wi-Fi, Zigbee, etc.).
  • Experience managing a multi-device or multi-SKU product ecosystem where user experience must remain coherent across hardware built by different teams.
  • Experience leveraging qualitative and quantitative data, including analytics, research insights, and customer feedback, to guide product decisions and priorities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 8+ years of applicable experience (or MBA with 5+ years applicable experience) in managing connected/IoT hardware products or app-based platforms with physical device integrations.

Other Job-Related Components:

  • Works closely with marketing directors, product marketing managers, regional sales managers, customer service, and marketing communications team.
  • Contributes to long-range and annual plans.
  • Builds strong cross-functional working relationships with Engineering, Sales, Customer Care, IT, and other internal departments.
  • Collaborates across divisions and with key internal corporate resources.
