Full Job Description
PPG is looking for a Digital Product Owner to lead the PPGTech and BIM products. You will lead the development and execution of digital solutions tailored for engineers, designers, and architects. You will drive the product vision, roadmap, and feature definition for custom coatings specification platforms, product calculators and configurators, and BIM integrations and marketplaces. The most successful outcome is for our customers to accelerate and improve their engineering and design workflows, earning PPG the right to sell more coatings.

This role will require 10-30% travel. You will be working in Pittsburgh, PA (USA) and operates a hybrid schedule of 3 days in office, 2 days remote.

Key Responsibilities
  • Product Roadmap and Execution
    • Establish and manage a 2-year roadmap for this product scope with clear customer persona capabilities and connections to expected KPIs
    • Translate user needs from engineers, architects, designers, painters, and construction project managers into clear product scope
    • Support the delivery of software by writing user stories, defining acceptance criteria, and helping manage backlogs
    • Lead regular and active user testing and customer feedback
  • User & Workflow Understanding
    • Learn and document how coatings are evaluated, specified, and used within CAD, BIM, and engineering workflows; innovate new solutions to accelerate and improve the process
    • Document user pain points and identify opportunities to improve workflows through digital tools
  • Ecosystem & Partner Support
    • Manage partnerships with key vendors in the software ecosystem
    • Coordinate product activities with external software platforms and content ecosystems
    • Support pilots, proofs-of-concept, and early deployments with ecosystem partners
    • Promote shared successes with partners through blog posts, presentations, and conferences
  • Commercial Alignment
    • Work with sales and specification teams to ensure digital tools support commercial objectives and create KPIs and dashboards to track outcomes
    • Help connect digital product usage to lead generation and specification tracking in CRM systems
    • Assist in analyzing how digital engagement influences sales opportunities to conversions
  • Measurement & Learning
    • Track product metrics such as usage, adoption, and basic funnel performance
    • Gather and summarize customer feedback to inform product improvements over time


Qualifications
  • 2-5 years of experience in product management, product ownership, business analysis (BA), or software development roles. Alternatively, you may have 2-5 years of experience in mechanical product design or engineering roles, with experience in the CAD software ecosystem.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
  • Exposure to software development or digital product teams (agile or hybrid environments)
  • Demonstrated curiosity and willingness to learn complex domains (engineering workflows, materials, chemistry)
