Essential Functions- Defines design strategy and north-star experiences for a platform or major product area.
- Leads cross-functional discovery and strategic alignment sessions.
- Partners with product and engineering leadership to drive holistic customer outcomes.
- Evolves and scales design systems, patterns, and tooling infrastructure.
- Mentors senior and mid-level designers; raises the bar on quality and consistency.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum EducationBachelor's degree in business or related field. In lieu of a degree, nine (9) years of practical experience may offset education requirements.
Minimum ExperienceFive (5) years in product, UX, or digital design. Experience guiding platforms, ecosystem, or multi-surface design. Proven track record designing and shipping large-scale experiences.
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong strategic influence and system-level thinking. Skilled in balancing user needs with technical feasibility and business impact.

- Define strategy for enterprise-wide design system, collaborating with brand, product and engineering partners to drive holistic customer outcomes, owning and delegating tasks appropriately and overseeing the working team.
- Define and implement insights plans to socialize key metrics, such as adoption velocity, component coverage and cost savings, and connecting the system's health to broader digital metrics.
- Generate and obtain support for innovative ideas based on market dynamics, customer feedback, and technology trends.
- Collaborate with researchers, other designers, and product managers to identify and execute design components and patterns that improve the user experience.
- Build positive cross-department relationships with peers and leadership. Actively facilitate alignment across organizations, seek different perspectives, and incorporate those into their work/solutions.
Preferred Qualifications- Strong strategic influence, system-level thinking, collaboration, communication, and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated experience with design systems tools, such as Figma and Storybook.
- Portfolio demonstrating design system work, including brand translation, strategy, component creation, documentation and visual design.
- Proven track record building structured, scalable and accessible digital design systems that express how the brand behaves, looks, and adapts across Web, Native Mobile, and content experiences.
- Advanced knowledge of designing unified user experiences across responsive web and native mobile environments.
- Demonstrated ability to build and structure semantic and component-tier design tokens to scale across code and design environments. Proven track record designing flexible component patterns for email, dashboard and content interfaces.
- Expertise in embedding strict accessibility and usability standards into core components.
- Practical familiarity with how design components is implemented in modern frameworks.
- Knowledge of AI-ready design system engineering.
DomicileThe preferred locations for this hybrid position are Memphis, TN, Plano, TX or Pittsburgh, PA. However, we will consider candidates based elsewhere within the United States (excluding Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories). Candidates residing within 50 miles of a FedEx campus will be required to work on-site at a FedEx location several times per week.
