The Financial Compliance Advisor serves as a key individual contributor within the SOX Strategy team, leading SOX activities related to enterprise transformation and strategic initiatives. This role assesses the impact of business, organizational, and technology changes on the SOX control environment and works cross-functionally with Finance, IT, Compliance, and business teams to develop practical solutions and governance strategies. The Advisor independently manages complex projects and workstreams, coordinates stakeholders, drives timelines and deliverables, develops executive-level presentations and communications, and helps ensure initiatives are successfully carried through to completion.
Supports the assessment process for internal controls over financial reporting of FedEx and its operating companies as required by Sarbanes-Oxley section 404 (SOX 404). Prepares overall SOX 404 training strategy and leads training sessions for FedEx companies. Works with accounting and finance management to review key internal controls and ensure the controls are properly documented and tested in accordance with FedEx policies and procedures. Prepares and makes regular SOX 404 and various financial reporting presentations to accounting and finance management teams. Compiles, analyzes and prepares financial and statistical information in support of accounting and financial analysis.
Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor's Degree/equivalent in finance or accounting.
- Master's Degree and/or CPA preferred.
- Five years' experience in public accounting or the accounting department at a public company.
- Strong internal controls, financial reporting and general accounting.
- Strong organizational, project leadership and communications skills.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead SOX strategy activities for enterprise transformation and strategic initiatives.
- Assess the impact of business, organizational, and technology changes on the SOX control framework and recommend appropriate governance strategies.
- Manage complex projects, establishing timelines, milestones, risks, and action plans while ensuring successful delivery.
- Develop executive-ready presentations and communications for leadership and steering committees.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration across Finance, IT, Compliance, and business teams to drive alignment and resolve issues.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of SOX Strategy processes, frameworks, templates, and governance tools.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience leading cross functional projects, Strong understanding and experience with SOX governance, Internal controls and enterprise process experience, Project management experience, Accounting experience in a large company environment (big 4 accounting firm experience is a plus), experience managing complex projects. This position may be eligible for relocation.
Pay Transparency: Pay: Additional Details: This is a hybrid position located in Collierville, TN or Plano, TX. Candidates must live within 50 miles of the campus location. Employees will be required to work at the FedEx campus location several times per week.
