The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with WordPress, PHP, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, enterprise content management systems, RESTful APIs, responsive design, accessibility, UX/UI implementation, and Agile delivery. This role is suited for a practical web engineer who can translate business, content, design, and accessibility requirements into reliable digital solutions while supporting production operations in a Federal environment.DecisionPoint is seeking an experienced Digital Experience Engineer (Web Development) Military OneSource to support the MODES III program.

This position is fully remote.

Duties & Responsibilities WordPress & Web Development
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance responsive websites and web applications supporting Military OneSource.
  • Configure, customize, and maintain WordPress websites, themes, templates, plugins, and reusable components.
  • Develop custom website functionality using PHP, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and related web technologies.
  • Translate UX/UI designs, content requirements, and interaction specifications into responsive, accessible front-end solutions.
  • Support enterprise content management systems and database-backed web applications.
  • Troubleshoot website defects, broken functionality, display issues, integration problems, and production incidents; perform root-cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions.
Digital Experience & Content Management
  • Partner with UX specialists, designers, content strategists, publishers, and product owners to improve the Military OneSource digital experience.
  • Support website content structures, templates, navigation, search, publishing workflows, and content presentation.
  • Translate business and user needs into practical, maintainable digital solutions.
  • Develop reusable components that promote visual consistency, usability, accessibility, and efficient content publishing.
  • Support website modernization, redesign, migration, and platform-enhancement initiatives.
  • Use website analytics, user feedback, accessibility results, and quality findings to recommend improvements.
Accessibility & Quality Assurance
  • Develop websites and applications consistent with Section 508, WCAG, and WAI-ARIA requirements.
  • Incorporate accessibility throughout design, development, testing, remediation, and release activities.
  • Perform keyboard, screen-reader, and assistive-technology validation as appropriate.
  • Use manual and automated accessibility testing tools to identify, document, and remediate issues.
  • Participate in peer reviews, code reviews, functional testing, usability reviews, and production validation.
API, Integration & Technical Support
  • Develop and maintain integrations among websites, RESTful APIs, databases, analytics platforms, and third-party services.
  • Implement interactive and dynamic website functionality using approved technologies and development standards.
  • Support authentication, search, forms, data exchange, and other integrated website capabilities.
  • Collaborate with back-end developers, architects, cybersecurity personnel, and DevSecOps engineers to resolve technical issues.
  • Support Git-based source control, structured development workflows, build tooling, deployment processes, and configuration management.
  • Assist with website monitoring, performance optimization, reliability, and production support.
Cybersecurity & Federal Compliance
  • Apply secure web-development practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Support vulnerability identification, remediation, validation, and release activities.
  • Coordinate with cybersecurity personnel to support RMF, Zero Trust, NIST SP 800-53, privacy, CUI, and Authority to Operate requirements.
  • Follow applicable Federal and DoD development, security, privacy, records-management, and operational requirements.
  • Maintain technical documentation supporting application sustainment, security reviews, and knowledge transfer.
Agile Delivery & Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
  • Collaborate with Government stakeholders, product owners, business analysts, content teams, UX specialists, designers, architects, testers, and operations personnel.
  • Gather and clarify requirements, identify implementation options, and provide level-of-effort estimates.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Provide implementation documentation, status updates, issue reporting, and knowledge transfer while working independently within a multidisciplinary Agile team.
