Job Title: Digital Engineer
Location: Huntsville, AL (On-Site)

Position Summary
Hanwha Defense USA is seeking a highly skilled Digital Engineer to support digital engineering initiatives for artillery system development programs. This mid to senior level role will lead Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) activities, develop and maintain system models, and perform simulation and analysis to enhance system design, integration, and performance validation. The position requires strong technical proficiency with modern modeling tools and an understanding of complex defense system architectures. A U.S. Government security clearance is preferred; the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance is required.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop, maintain, and refine MBSE system models using SysML-based tools to support program architecture, requirements management, integration, and verification.
• Perform modeling, simulation, and analytical assessments to evaluate system behavior, performance, and design trade-offs for artillery system programs.
• Develop digital engineering artifacts to support program milestones, technical reviews, and system integration activities.
• Coordinate with Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software, and Program Management to ensure cohesive digital thread alignment.
• Utilize Cameo/MagicDraw and related modeling environments to implement modeling standards, workflows, and best practices.
• Support creation and refinement of digital twins, digital representations, and simulation-driven design approaches.
• Provide technical input during system design, architecture discussions, and risk assessments.
• Ensure digital engineering activities comply with program requirements, data governance standards, and DoD digital engineering guidelines.
• Contribute to documentation, technical reports, and engineering deliverables in support of design reviews, customer engagements, and verification activities.
• Assist in developing and evolving digital engineering processes and tools across the organization.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline; Master's degree preferred.
• 5-10+ years of experience in systems engineering, digital engineering, MBSE, or related technical fields.
• Proficiency in SysML and MBSE methodologies, with hands-on experience using Cameo/MagicDraw or comparable modeling tools.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink for simulation, analysis, or model development.
• Background supporting defense programs, ideally within artillery systems or related complex weapon system development.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to convey complex system behavior and architecture concepts.
• Familiarity with digital thread concepts, digital lifecycle processes, and model management best practices.
• Active U.S. Government security clearance preferred; ability to obtain and maintain a clearance required.
• Must be eligible to work on U.S. export controlled programs.
