Position OverviewWe are seeking a Diagnostic Manager to lead our Diagnostics team within the Service Solutions organization. This position plays a critical role in developing diagnostic solutions for our products while ensuring high-quality technical content for our diagnostic manuals and service tools.
The Diagnostic Manager will be responsible for developing and validating diagnostic content. This role ensures that our diagnostic documentation and tools provide accurate, efficient, and user-friendly guidance to technicians and service centers worldwide.
Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Management
- Lead and mentor team of diagnostic engineers and technical writers responsible for developing diagnostic procedures and service content.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Manage workload prioritization, performance reviews, and professional development for team members.
Diagnostic Strategy and Content Development
- Ensure diagnostic procedures and fault codes are accurate, actionable, and reflect the latest engineering designs and field data.
- Integrate diagnostic requirements early in the product lifecycle.
- Validate that diagnostic manuals align with engineering intent, field data, and customer service needs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with engineering, service operations, technical publications, and dealer support teams to maintain consistent diagnostic standards.
- Serve as the primary liaison between diagnostic development and the field, ensuring customer and dealer feedback informs content improvement.
- Work closely with IT and tool development teams to synchronize diagnostic tool functionality and documentation.
Quality and Continuous Improvement
- Lead benchmarking activities to evaluate diagnostic procedures against internal and external best practices.
- Use field data and feedback from dealers to refine diagnostic coverage, accuracy, and usability.
- Develop metrics to measure diagnostic effectiveness, fault resolution rates, and manual quality.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience in the automotive or Heavy-Duty industry
- At least 2 years of management experience

- Master's degree and at least 4 years of experience in the automotive or Heavy-Duty industry
- At least 2 years of management experience
OR
- At least 8 years of experience in the automotive or Heavy-Duty industry
- At least 2 years of management experience

- Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, or related field) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in vehicle diagnostics, service engineering, or technical publications, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary teams producing diagnostic or technical service content.
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and systems such as INCA, Calterm, DevX, Matlab/Simulink, and Vector CANalyzer/CANoe.
- Strong understanding of UDS (Unified Diagnostic Services) and CAN communication standards.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
- Experience in Diesel, Medium/Heavy Duty, or Electric Vehicle platforms is highly preferred.
