DevSecOps Engineer - CI/CD, Containers & Missile Defense Systems Full-Time with an Employee-Owned and Best Places to Work Contractor On-site in Colorado Springs, CO | Schedule: 9x80 We are hiring a DevSecOps Engineer in Colorado Springs, CO to support secure software development and delivery for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Threat Modeling Center (TMC) at Schriever Space Force Base. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, containerized environments, DevOps automation, Linux systems, automated testing, and secure software delivery infrastructure. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Docker, Podman, GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, Jira, SonarQube, Checkmarx, Coverity, Linux, and software development pipelines, along with an active Secret clearance. You will collaborate with development and test teams to improve build, integration, testing, deployment, security, and configuration management processes while maintaining reliable and repeatable software delivery environments. Responsibilities: - Design, implement, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines supporting frequent, reliable, and secure software delivery. - Automate infrastructure deployment, configuration, scaling, and management using scripting and configuration management tools. - Implement and manage containerization technologies, including Docker, Podman, and similar container runtimes. - Configure and support rootless and rootful container environments as appropriate. - Deploy and maintain applications within containerized environments. - Collaborate with software development and test teams to improve build, integration, testing, and deployment processes. - Integrate automated testing, static analysis, code quality, code coverage, and security tools into CI/CD pipelines. - Monitor system and pipeline performance and implement improvements to enhance reliability and availability. - Establish and maintain security, compliance, and configuration baselines across development and deployment environments. - Support secure automation and access control using identity and credential management solutions, service accounts, and credential managers. - Troubleshoot Linux, container, pipeline, integration, and deployment issues within production-like environments. - Support continuous improvement of DevSecOps processes, software factories, and development infrastructure. Qualifications: - U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law - Active Secret Clearance required - Bachelor's degree in a STEM field from an accredited institution and 5+ years of relevant experience (Or Master's degree and 3+ years of experience) - Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline plus 5+ years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree plus 3+ years of relevant experience; OR PhD plus 1+ year of relevant experience. - Experience with containerization and container runtime technologies such as Docker, Podman, or similar platforms. - Experience deploying applications in containerized environments. - Experience with automated software testing, including unit, integration, or acceptance testing within CI/CD pipelines. - Experience designing, supporting, or maintaining CI/CD pipelines and software development factories. - Experience with DevOps and software development tools such as Jira, GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, SonarQube, Checkmarx, Coverity, or other Atlassian tools. - Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux operating systems. - Understanding of secure software development, configuration management, and automated deployment processes. Preferred Qualifications: - Strong Linux administration and shell scripting experience within production or production-like environments. - Experience implementing and maintaining automated software testing, static analysis, security scanning, and code quality tools within CI/CD pipelines. - Experience with hypervisors and virtualized medium- and high-trust environments. - Experience with identity and credential management solutions, including credential managers, service accounts, Keycloak, or similar technologies. - Exposure to Kubernetes and container orchestration. - Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools such as Terraform or Ansible. - Experience developing software within a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environment. - Experience with Behavior-Driven Development (BDD). - Experience with Gherkin and Cucumber for automated acceptance testing. - Experience supporting defense, missile defense, DoD, or other mission-critical software environments.
