DevOps Engineer

As a DevOps engineer, you know how to set up cloud environments and provision computer networking, storage, and virtual networks, ultimately how to “harness the cloud”. We’re looking for an experienced DevOps infrastructure engineer like you to support our clients as they modernize their IT infrastructures and meet their most challenging missions. 

As a DevOps infrastructure engineer at Booz Allen, you’ll work closely with cloud architects and engineers to manage server configuration for modern cloud solutions. You’ll apply your skills within a DevOps framework to establish or provision virtual machines (VMs) or networks and use cloud service providers to further your clients’ meaningful missions.

You Have:

• 5+ years of experience engineering secure DevOps or DevSecOps workflows, including automated builds, regression testing, monitoring, and release promotion across environments
• 5+ years of experience troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines such as GitLab CI/CD, and resolving build failures, slowness, and deployment issues across hybrid or multi‑enclave environments
• Experience provisioning compute, networking, storage, servers, and VMs, ensuring secure configuration and operational readiness
• Experience with automation using Terraform and scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell, to enable scalable environment management
• Ability to design and support enterprise cloud‑native solutions and containerized platforms using Docker and Kubernetes
• Ability to solve complex technical challenges within a collaborative, cross‑functional engineering team supporting mission‑critical systems
• Top Secret clearance
• Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience in DevOps, or 12+ years of experience in DevOps in lieu of a degree

 

Nice If You Have:

• Experience developing or optimizing cloud‑native solutions using Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Jenkins, or Azure
• Experience with scripting using Python, Bash, or Boto3 for automation or operational tooling
• Experience with automated testing frameworks or Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools such as Ansible or Helm
• Knowledge of identity and access services such as Active Directory, LDAP, or Keycloak, or secure enclave boundary practices
• Ability to improve continuous automation across multiple technical stacks and troubleshoot open‑source or commercial tools in cloud environments
• AWS, Azure, GCP, Security Engineering, or Cyber Engineering Certification

 

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
