About the job

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a DevOps Engineer to join our Technology team. This role will support the design, implementation, and maintenance of DevOps tools, processes, and environments. This position will collaborate with senior team members to ensure stability, scalability, and efficiency of our development and operational workflows. This position offers hands-on learning with cutting-edge technologies such as cloud platforms, Kubernetes, automation tools, and CI/CD pipelines.

What You'll Do

DevOps Support & Execution
• Support the deployment, setup, and ongoing maintenance of applications across cloud and on-premise environments.
• Assist in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Argo CD and GitHub Actions.
• Help manage and improve Kubernetes clusters used for application deployment.

Collaboration & Teamwork
• Partner with developers, QA, and infrastructure teams to embed DevOps practices into the development process.
• Join team meetings, project planning sessions, and help with issue resolution alongside experienced team members.

Process Improvement
• Contribute to documenting processes and recommend ways to improve system performance and reliability
• Help automate routine tasks to minimize manual work and reduce errors.

Monitoring & Troubleshooting
• Support monitoring efforts using tools such as AppDynamics and Sumo Logic to ensure system health.
• Assist in diagnosing and resolving production issues and participate in on-call support under supervision.

Learning & Development
• Continuously build knowledge in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), containerization, scripting, and tools like Ansible.
• Stay informed on emerging DevOps tools and best practices.

What You'll Bring
• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in systems analysis, IT support, DevOps, or a related technical function (internship or co-op experience acceptable)
• Basic understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools like Jenkins, Argo CD and GitHub Actions, Git, or similar.
• Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
• Exposure to web/application servers (e.g., Tomcat, WebLogic, Apache).
• Basic scripting skills in Shell, Python, or Ruby.
• Interest in learning configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible) and cloud platforms like AWS or GCP.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative mindset.

Work Environment, Physical & Mental Demands
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time

  • Hours regularly 40 hours per week from our Houston, TX office.
